About 2 years ago I bought a DuraLast Gold battery from AutoZone … topped off the charge … installed it … it’s been working great … I don’t use a battery maintainer because I ride a lot and the most the bike sits is about 2 weeks … I’ve had no problems…
It was $109 … it’s $122 now …

I had the Wicked start 500cc also and do not recommend it either. Wanted to go with the Noco but worried it would mess up the bike electronics, Went with the Duralast Gold.
How long have you guys had these batteries? Do you keep them on a maintainer?

I've had my bike since March 5th this year and it's a 2023 and I jumped it twice so far. First time was about six days after I was home. Had it on the charger 2 days than took it off for 4 days and tried to start it and nothing. It turned maybe once or twice than no more, everything still had power though. 2nd time was about 2 weeks ago, and I've never had it off the charger when not driving it since the first time. I just had it out the day before to go to wor and back home.

I've had similar start failures on my '23 Pursuit so I recently bought an Indian Motorcycle Jump Pack and carry it with me all the time. Just the other day the bike failed to start again and with the jump pack attached it started right up.

I use a Limitless Lithium battery, i do have a sound system, 2 10" subs, 2 8" mids, along with my front fairings I did have quite a bit of issues with the OEM battery prior to my sound system but this battery i don't have one thing negative to say

How big are your amps and which limitless battery are you using?

It's time for me was well. Any die hard AGM guys out there? What would you recommend.

I'm not going to go through a long story, but I'm not sold on lithium just yet. My Raider is sitting waiting on a replacement Anti Gravity... hopefully.
Just to circle back around on this o n my Yamaha Raider. Anti Gravity has a 1 year warranty, but they sent me a new battery after 13 months. My Raider is back on the road. I'm still trying to figure out if I need a battery for my Challenger, and still not sure what it will be. It will turn over slowly after sitting on the maintainer for a few days. Once it's warm, it starts right up.

What I would do is to take the battery out and fully charge it with a charger not tender and then have it load tested then go from there.

I went for the Wicked Start 500 and would not recommend it. There are some who state that it's not really a 500 CCA battery but actually a 320 CCA. I was OK with that since it was about the same price as other 320 CCA. However, I followed the rules about not connecting a battery tender less it's going to be sitting for more than 3 weeks so I didn't. It was less than 3 weeks since I rode my bike and the battery was showing 10.2 vdc and wouldn't start the bike.

I still have it in the bike right now but I'm going to put the OEM back in and keep it on the tender if I'm not riding it for a week.

Navy has a Lithium Battery Safety program because of how volatile they are so I just don't trust them but others have recommended them so I may consider one next time.
I purchased the Wicked Start and got one good year of performance out of it. The next summer it cranked my Roadmaster slower and by the end of the summer the voltage dropped off every time it was parked and I lost the clock, auxiliary light and heated grip memory after a day of sitting.
I cannot recommend a battery that loses most of it's power right after the warranty period expires.

I'm having a problem with my NOCO. I just noticed the tender lwas tripped out. The bike had no voltage so I checked voltage with a meter. It had .5v showing. I removed the battery and it shows 12V. Hook it up up .5 again. Tried putting on the tender out of the bike and it trips the tender. I think the battery had failed, it's only 4 months old.

Afternoon All,

can i get a few battery recommendations and why you choose them

much appreciated
I went Braille AGM B1205. I wasn't wanting to pay for lithium battery when I didn't feel I needed one. The AGM has more CCA over the stock battery, which I felt the biked needed to start up.

Hopefully NOCO will warranty it.

Before you ask for a warranty replacement or refund, I suggest you try the tender on another battery like your car. Just in case it’s the bike causing it to trip.

Lots of reports of issues with NOCO. The issue with these lithium batteries is not the battery itself, but the electronics In the battery. The BMS (battery management system) is a CPU and circuit that provides proper charging protection and regulation. These circuits go bad and leave you with a useless battery.

That’s pretty much the story on the wicked start batteries from all the reviews I have read.
Dead in a year.

The other thing is that I don't believe once a battery is that low that a tender or maintainer will help. You need an actual charger at that point.

Well, that depends on the maintainer. The recommended charging rate for the OEM AGM batteries is 1.8a for 8-10 hours. So a 2amp maintainer is fine and better yet if the maintainer is specifically designed for AGM and has a de-sulfating feature. A 5 amp charger is not likely going to breathe new life and a 10amp may burn the battery up. Some use .5 or .8 amp "trickle" chargers which are really not good for AGM's.

More or less, once these these batteries are left in a very low condition or run dead they are on their way to the graveyard. Thats why there are so many issues with batteries in new bikes. It's a good reason to never buy a small activated battery, who knows how long it's sat in a discharged state.
