Hello,
My name is Tom and I been riding for a total of 20+. All of it was off road, and mostly in my youth. The last time I rode off road was 8 years ago. Last year a buddy convinced me to get my motorcycle license and to start riding on the road. He bribed me actually. He called up and said his older brother gave him a Harley a Street 500 that i could have if I got my license. So i did, and he did. At the time I did not like the 500. To heavy and nothing like what I was used to, a dirt bike. So I traded it for a 2022 Kawasaki Z400 I bought new in May of 2022. Over the course of the year I started seeing videos for the Indian FTR 1200. I was like an American naked sport racing muscle bike. I had to have one. So 2 weeks ago i traded the Z400 (logged 14,600+ miles over the year) for the Indian FTR 1200 S. So far i am loving it. Despite have a 3.4 gallon has tank vs the 4 gallon tank on the 400, I am averaging about the same miles per tank. The speeds i was reaching on the 400 at 8k-11k RPMs I am hitting on the 1200 at 4k-6k RPMs. I will be doing my own service on the bike so I expect I will be reaching out often for advise. In less than 20 years when I am 70+ years old, I am already planning to lower the suspension so I can ride this baby to the grave.
