Recently rode 2500mi round trip from Austin to Daytona with my buddy on a first gen Valkyrie, which he thought was a pretty fast bike and no way an 1100 version Twin would be able to get away from a 1500 six cylinder. Not only could the Scout very easily keep up for hundreds of miles of 100+ riding, I'd walk past him on Wot runs and very easily out corner it- yes, even on the "garbage" stock suspension and even oem tires. Plus, it sounds about a hundred times cooler than the flat-6 drone.

I was struggling to decide between a scout and a chief. I mainly commute and on tight Sydney roads. I demoed the scout and the dark horse. The scout would've been more practical, but I fell in love with the cruiser. Bought the chief and it makes me smile every ride.
And there lies the true test and answer! Which bike gives you the biggest smile and thrill! The Chief does it for you and the Scout does it for me! Ahhhh, life is good,.........

Yeah. The Gunner isn't doing 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

...not that it really matters. I think the Gunner is a great bike. My local Victory dealership still has a couple asking around 10K. It is tempting!

Too scary? Please stay well away from a Hyabusa or something that really hauls ass then............LOL.........even a 600 crotch rocket will smoke a Scout.
Did a speed drag against a ZX6R the other day to 120mph. Kept up decently until about 70mph but ultimately lost 120mph to 105mph. Wouldn't call it "Smoked" though.

Previous bike was a 600 naked with same horsepower than my scout. The scout feels a lot more powerfull and thats because you note power since 3500 to 8000 instead of 9000 to 12000 rpm. You cannot feel what you feel in scout rolling full gas in 3rd, you get much narrow rpm range in a naked or sportsbike and thats why is more scary the scout than any 600 imho.
