Short windshield

I’d rather not use a windshield all the time because I like the look of my SDH without it, but I also think that it would make highway trips more pleasant. I also want to see over the windshield, especially when it’s tinted. I ordered the 11.3 inch wind deflector from Indian to give me an easy on/off option (https://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en...62a7ae4bf2d84597a50a9d8562392ae9b20369f1a29d365fcad862da&utm_content=item_image).
I wanted to see how the windshield would look without mounting it because I wanted the option to return it. So while my check was not exact, it was really close. I was surprised that even the 11.3 inch is above my line of sight. I would be looking through the windshield and it’s definitely dark. There was also a large gap between the nacelle and the windshield. I’m 5’11 and I admit that I did not bolt the windshield onto the bike, but it seems large for an 11.3 inch deflector. Does anyone else have one of these? Are you able to look over the top?
Thanks in advance.

@DDBCK fabulous taste in Motorcycle and paint scheme. For me at 6'4 240 I got the 18" Freedom shield first, but mostly caused me to look through it, so dropped to the 16" and with my current seat the top of the shield aligns almost perfectly with the tip of my nose, so I can clearly see over it, and on very rare occasion I might duck down a little if the rain is hard.

At www.IndianAftermarket.com We sell windshield frames for all the Indians. Our frames are all black. The OEM frame is also good but chrome. We are also a dealer for Freedomshields. They are clearly the best. they are slightly wider and turned up at the top kicking the wind up and over the rider. They rarely cause buffeting. ( I have heard of only 2 cases out of hundreds.)

Here is a YouTube video I made that uses smoke to demonstrate the Freedomshield:

Just a quick follow-up. Yesterday a discovered a fact that many others have already realized. Freedomshields are an outstanding product. After realizing how bad the Indian 12 inch windshields are, actually how dangerous they are because of the extreme buffeting, I ordered the 12 inch replacement from Freedomshield. Night and day difference. I got the bike up to 75 mph and I barely felt a thing. Exactly what I was looking for. Something else. I didn't realize until I got the replacement that Freedomshield allows you to install the windshield and do a test ride, as long as the protective coating is not removed. That is the kind of thing a great company does. As soon as I got home I took the coating off because I knew that I was keeping this windshield.
