Ride Command quirks

For the past few months my RC has rebooted on startup 2-3 times on the regular. During yesterday's ride it took as many as 6 times and close to 5 mins before it was happy enough with itself to stay on. As most have noted, the frustrating IM support site does not have the current software listed. I'm pretty sure my 2018 Chieftain is running the new package, not sure about the maps tho...... Thoughts?

Also had the red CEL come on mid ride after a break. Diagnostics show nothing on multiple checks yesterday and today. Had this happen a few months ago when riding in 40 degree temps with the bike showing rich fuel to #2 but it resolved itself mid ride, yesterday was high 50s.
Running CAT delete x-pipe, Lloydz' 558 cams, PCVX tune from @CraigB1960 etc...... Thoughts again?

You might have a bad RC unit. My dealer had one that would sometimes do that and then is started getting like "hazy" with horizontal lines like an old TV sort of thing.

Turned out the Screen was just bad.

I assume, and I am no expert that the VCU and the ECU feed some data to the screen to communicate, but that the screen also has its own chip that runs the start-up, processing speed etc. etc.

After installing the 20181025 update, I noticed that RC was slower to boot, leaves a little circle on the screen where ever you touch it, and sometimes loses roads on the display requiring you to switch screens and come back to the GPS to get a correct reading.
