Appears early WW2 — definitely not the PowerPlus engine, and look at the size of the gas tank! Front end A-frame suspension and floorboards look Indian. However, tail light not congruent w Indian models. It’s not a WLA, either (side by side tail lights). So I threw it in for grins.

Hink, I believe it is a 1939 era Chief adapted for military use. The dash is of that era as I have owned several 1946-49 Chiefs that had that dash. Note the spring on the front fender. This is typical for that era prior to the Big mudguards we all know and love (except Polaris )There are guys on here much smarter than I in this Department

It would be cool as hell if Indian were to do up the new Chief in this color scheme, with some tan bags, and offer it for sale...

Bastage Brother of the 741-the 841 most likely copied from captured Nazi loot. Ideal for desert duty. And yes, this is an Indian.
