I have a 24 pursuit ltd and I use the screen exclusively. Do you have a dedicated switch? No issue with 50 degree mornings and the heat level I’m getting.

I have a switch below the left glovebox. Nothing on the screen until I push it. Then it is on screen and I can adjust.

Does it have some kind of nanny feature so it doesn't get hot at 60 degrees, but will when it is colder? So that the high adjusts based on ambient?

 

 

Full heat 15 minutes, and another 15 raising it. Is it a warranty issue?

 

Heated grips have heating elements burn out, pretty common.

 

I have the 10 level heated grips on my vintage… they get hot … too hot … ended up with a blister on my hand …

Initially, I had to use the switch to turn mine on, after that, just the screen. Mine got hot enough to burn if all the way up, so something may be wrong with yours.

 

Same here, my pursuit gets scorching hot! I never have to put the level above 5 on even the coldest day (with gloves of course). I did have to turn on the grips with the main switch first, then afterwards (like Moe1962 mentioned), I now only have to use the screen.

 

The seats can be turned on with the screen. Reaching down to turn the grips was not the best idea they had. I am sure with practice it gets easier. Plus I think I was pushing the wrong side. On the grips would be a lot nice.

Now I got to deal with the dealer, who I am not all the found of. And on an issue like this, thay may just say they feel warm. But 60 degrees all the way for 15 minutes more, after working my way up

 

Heating grips operation is too complicated. To switch the level of heating up or low necessary to stop to drive.

 

Harley has them on the end of grip and you just twist. Stopping to adjust if they get to hot is not a great scheme. Riding in the rain and putzing with it is not the way to go. Having to reach down below the glove box to turn just is not the best option. I didn't even know the switch was there until I was told.

 

Was 60 degrees turned heated grips on. Kept turning on higher and higher. Finally high for last 15 minutes. I could feel it on high, but not hot by any means. Do they adjust for ambient? Warranty issue? Or just the way it is? Kinda though they sucked. Snowmobile company should make some good heated grips.

Also learn where the button is before going down the road in the rain. On mine you have to physically turn it on before you can use the screen. Is there a way around that? I can turn the seat on from the screen.

If these are the Indian heated grips, and you don’t have any grip covers on, then yes, as others have stated, you have an issue and it would possibly be covered under warranty.

 

Ya they were working for a few miles tonight and died. Hopefully that will make the warrany claim easier. I was worried if they were a little warm they would blow me off. Dealer by me is awful.

My normal stance is don't buy under warranty, let some one else deal with the issues. 2900 miles and the heated grips die.

The pursuit fairing was probably not the fairing for me. Maybe the road master would have been better, it is to small. I am used to a batwing that covers my hands better.

Discover if you turn the switch on, below the left glovebox, it will appear on the screen. You can turn it off on the screen and it will still stay on the scree, Red light comes on the physical button.

 

2 rides the grips worked. Intermittent is worse. But I guess I';ll just ride it.

Settings are different than harley, not that it matters. Harley start at 2 or 3 and turn down to 1. These start close to high and turn down. So maybe will have more range to use. I suspect could be opposite. Harley you only use low, on these only use high. But same heat band

 

Interesting… my grips start a 0 … or the last setting they were at when I shut down the bike …

 

No I mean I start at 50%-100% on indian and go back down. Where my harley I ran in the bottom 25% range or to hot. I don't think it matters. I have never had the harley over 3. These have ran on high for quite awhile. Good enough, as long as they keep working,

 

Heated grips seem fine. I think the problem may be, they seem to cool off quick if you take your hand off. You reach to turn them up, and they are already cool by the time you get back. I may look at roadmaster next time. Used to a batwing fairing which really covers your hands. It seems the back of my hands do not get as warm as I would like. Be interesting to see when it gets cold out.

The heated seats work a lot better than my corbin. 60s and gloomy today, rode 200 miles. That heat sure helps. I was so-so about it with my corbin. The lowers work good too.

Regarding the seat on my '23 Pursuit. My wife will turn on her portion when it's cool out. It will work fine for an hour or two then the switch on the seat starts to flash and the heat turns off. If I wait about 15 minutes she can turn it back on for another cycle. Is this normal? I rarely use my seat heat. I think I've only used it on the test ride to see if it worked, so I don't know if the front portion does the same thing and turns off. I find the grips are lukewarm at best. My old FJR had grips you could cook on if you set them higher than 7. Luckily I have a Supertenere that I ride in the winter or days below 20 degrees F. I put Oxfords on that and they heat up pretty hot too.

 

The seat needs replaced. I had the same issue with my ‘Pursuit Elite. Dealer replaced it under warranty last year.
