Hey everyone. So my Scout Bobber had a false start, so I started it a second time and then the check engine light went on. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I forgot to get the code before I turned off the bike, so now it won't pop up again. Thanks!

On the TS111, usually 4 clean (no codes) on/off ride cycles will clear a current code to the code history file. A Scout should be the same …

Here’s the sequence if you want to clear it now…
(Should work, if not … it won’t hurt anything.)

Reset Error/Trouble Codes
Ignition Key (IK) OFF
Kill Switch (KS) OFF
Turn IK ON
Turn KS ON
Fuel pump will cycle
Turn KS OFF
Turn IK OFF
Wait 10 seconds
Repeat sequence another three (3) times ...... That’s four (4) times in total.
At the fourth (4th) time, start the bike after the fuel pump has cycled.
Run the engine for 30 seconds, then shut down normally.
Most (if not all) codes should have cleared to the historic mem
ory.

What do you mean by “false start”? Anyways, I have seen many one time codes here, and I had one (related to gear speed sensor). Unless it happens again, we just ignore them. I forgot to write mine down as well, so I got a cable to hook up an OBD dongle and retrieve them.

If you get a check engine light with starting issues then check the battery. Don't rely on a simple voltage check - find someone who can run a load check.
This affected my bike recently and my battery seemed fine but when it was replaced the problem disappeared.
If you run the standard agm battery you can buy really inexpensive load testers on Amazon.
