Alright, who's going to be first to get this done and do a tutorial? I hate being a guinea pig and suck at main tutorials 😅 I have the Stage 1 exhaust and intake, but I live on SoCal and it's going to get hot soon. It's also still a little too quiet for my taste.

Also, will it change the tune requirements much? They flashed the ECU for add-ons already but wasn't sure how much drilling out the cat would make a difference.

So you opened up the header pipe as opposed to just taking off the mufflers and drilling out the cat innards? Did you notice a little more grunt in the sound too?

slight differance in sound, If you want louder you can knock out the orignal mufflers . I did not drill out. I cut the cat gutted then welded it back. I watch it on you tube . I have a bike lift and a mig welder. If you dont have there is a place you can send to and they will do it.

Got it. Yeah, I was planning on drilling out the mufflers too but I want to see how it sounds with the cat first. Hopefully that plus the Stage 1 will satisfy.

I don't have a welder but I have a lift. Maybe I'll have to ship it if I can't find a local guy.

The cat should be right at the edge if you take off mufflers, right? Easy access work a auger drill?..

My stage one intake/exhaust are installed. The bike runs awesome. I’m going to leave my Cat alone. My experience from the FTR forum is - once the Cat is removed the bike will actually run worse unless it is professionally tuned. I am not a big sound guy. The open (I could see right through them) stage1 pipes sound fine for my taste.

Did you end up removing the cat from your 2022 Chief Dark Horse. Im considering the same option. just wondering about sounds and performance. Ive already drilled out the baffles and it didnt do much.
