Curious as to what the majority say here. I have a 2018 chieftain with stage 2 Indian cams, stage one pipes and air cleaner, as well as the Indian flash. Also cat is gutted. Looking at a tune from honnies garage also known as mad monkey. Would I be better off doing that or a pv3 or pv4 and save a little bit of money. Indian tune rpm hunt’s idling from 850 to 1000 rpm’s, and also has some throttle surging under light throttle which is aggravating in traffic

I would second PV3 … at this point it seems a PV4 is mainly for getting a canned tune … but I understand DJ is possibly going to expand what it can do (in terms of recording logs and importing them to the C3 software) … Maybe someone with a PV4 can tell us what it can do at this point …

The idle surging is more than likely the intake boots (called intake adapters)being cracked, they are inexpensive, and a bit of a pain to R&R but if they are replaced at least you'll have peace of mind knowing thier not an issue-no tune will be optimal until these types of issues are corected.

Another vote for a PV3. 15 Chieftain, same set up as yours except Rinehart slip ons..

I ran the Indian stage 2 tune for a while and it was ok. Purchased the PV3 from Fuel Moto. (They had the best value, including lifetime tunes if the setup is changed etc.). Had Craig B tweak the FM tune and it runs great.

In my best "technical terms" my "butt dyno" says it feels like it added as much "umph" to the stage 2 setup as the stage 2 setup added to the stage 1.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I can't speak for Craig's times but I bought a pv3 from fuel moto and ran the dynojet tune that came with the device and ran the fuel moto tune and I didn't see much difference. It'd say the bulk of the changes will be made in the dynojet tune and anything else is just money spent. Just my opinion.
