I’ve had mine over four years. No strap needed unless mounting in a trailer, IMHO. Best gizmo I’ve purchased in years.

 

Wheel chocks can be very handy and the type with the release pedal are amazing. (The chock I own doesn't have one of those) However, as noted in the warning on the product page, you have to pay attention to the front fender and rotor configurations on some bikes with the release pedal type. There is the potential for interference there. The OP's Sport Chief should not be a problem here but I've seen other models get damaged. My local dealer gooned up the front fender on a brand new Icon using a front wheel chock on the sales floor.

I also have a scissor lift that put under my Sport Chief. I've used it in conjunction with my HF motorcycle lift for maintenance and I use it to keep the bike standing straight up in the garage due to space constraints.

Are you recommending that wheel dock from the link above as long as I make sure it isn’t hitting anything other than the wheel/tire?

One thing a chock won't do is elevate the bike at all so if you're looking to do maintenance you'll be laying on the floor. They also don't elevate the tires so if removing the wheels is something you think you might be doing, a chock won't help.

When it comes to doing maintenance, I'm an advocate for lifts. I really don't like working on bikes on the ground. I'm a bit spoiled since I bought my Harbor Freight 1000 lb motorcycle lift. I mostly work on sport bikes so I use rear stands that keep the bike upright but got the scissor lift as mentioned above for my Indian. It works really well for me.

The chock linked above, while expensive, looks like a solid chock. I wouldn't mind owning one but it's a bit out of my price range largely due to the other implements I have for my bike.

Note: I'll never advocate going cheap on the device that is supposed to support your very expensive motorcycle.

 

WheelDock. My Pursuit is parked in it when I'm not riding it. If there is any doubt if it is right for your bike, call them, they are a great small business.

 

Agreed! It would save on a lot of shipping hassle.

I have a CONDOR in my trailer and wouldn't change it for anything. The beauty of the WheelDock is you roll in and it locks your wheel in place. When you unlock, you just roll out, no muscling a 900+ lbs bike out of the cradle on the CONDOR. They both have their benefits and I take advantage of both.

 

Just sold my Condor and got the WheelDock for my 2025 Sport Chief RT. Absolutely recommend the WheelDock!

Leaving the bike in the Wheeldock also simplifies checking the oil level.

I considered the Lets Roll but was skeptical because there was very little info on Indian users. Can you post a pic with your Pursuit lifted?

 

Mine is a cheap(around $500)Harbor Freight hydraulic stand/lift(foot pump. I didn’t have a lot of faith in it being a $500 lift, but I’m extremely impressed with it. The build quality is more like the $1,500 stands that I had looked at before purchasing this one.

 

 

Do any of y’all have a bike stand to recommend which holds the bike level to do an oil change?
Preferably one more stable so I could wrench on my bike if needed?

I have one for my Pursuit. Works very well.
It will hold the bike upright without tying it down, although, probably not a bad idea to tie it down for safety.

I’ve had mine ~ 14 years. I also move it to a mount on my trailer when necessary.
Makes loading/tiedown by myself super easy.

One thing to consider when you order the size.
If you think you may ever go for a larger bike, get the larger bike and buy the shim kit to fit your current ride.

I started with a Harley Ultra Ltd and shimmed down to the Indian.

Let's Roll and get the plate that you can purchase for the indian motorcycle.

 

I own three Baxley Sport Chocks, one Baxley LA Chock, and a ABBA Bike Lift. Heres a couple photos of them in use.

 

I have the Wheeldock and the Baxley Sportchock. The Baxley is 10 times better as far as holding the bike FIRMLY in place. Only one advantage for the Wheeldock is if you have trouble physically pulling a heavy motorcycle back out of the sport chock which cradles the front tire off the floor about an inch or so.

 

I have a Condor and it works amazing for my 2016 Chieftain. Holds bike straight up for my oil changes etc.

 

Aren’t oil changes for the Thunderstrokes supposed to be done on the sidestand? I always stand mine up and lean it over, back and forth, just to make sure it all gets drained anyway.

 

I do the same. Checking the oil is where it comes in handy.

I have the Condor and love it. The WheelDock looks great, but I like being able to pull in the garage onto the dolly and then tuck the bike in a corner to maximize space.

 

There are a few other threads on this topic that may give some more insight.

 

I have a Wheeldock and am very pleased on the performance of the unit.
i have it mounted on my hydraulic lift and park my 2014 Vintage on it all the time without any issue.
When I take the bike in our toy hauler it is just 2 bolts to remove and 2 bolts to mount the chock in the trailer. I do use straps when I elevate the bike on the lift or transporting in the trailer.
If you contact Wheeldock they can guide you to the correct chock for your bike and tire size.

I use a HF wheel chock and place my HF floor jack under the bike to keep everything stable. The HF wheel chock also goes in my trailer when hauling bikes. I learned a few things just now watching the lever type wheel chock video and like not having to compress my suspension when strapping the bike down.

 

I like the HF chock. It has a long stabilizer bar that also works for tie downs. In my toy hauler I just drilled 2 holes in the floor and slip a bolt in each one to keep it from sliding. When we park I just pull the bolts and slide it out of the way. I also have the HF lift which has worked great for years. Can't change oil using it though because it's in the way of the oil pan. I just do that on the side stand.

 

What bike are you lifting? I've been looking at getting it since it's on sale and adding the air jack instead of the manual pump it has

 

i realy like the Baxley wheel chock for my scout and Yamaha bikes, but for my chieftain classic i use the wheeldock as its a roll in as compared to the rocker cradel. The Baxley is just too hard to roll out of rocker for me at 900lbs and short legs. but then the chief is what 700lbs so either would work well, the wheledock has a hydraulic lockbar, locking the tire in solidly.
