I am just curious, will the hard bags on the new Springfield fit on the 2015 Chief Classic? And even if they do, are they are going to cost well over $1000?

Yes you can. Does it come with the calibration card (180.00)
You don't need a calibration card for slip ons. You need one for the a/c. I rode my bike for a week with slip ons before I installed my a/c and power commander. It ran just fine. I also have a calibration card left over from my a/c that I never used. I would sell for $100.

Depends on the size of the baffle.

I like the hard bags. But they should be 24K gold. For the price they want for them. So I'm good with leather aftermarket bags. Probably the cheaper route is just trade your bike in on a Springfield.
