I'm looking for grips that are thicker, but still have the Indian vibe. The ability to add a throttle boss down the line would also be nice. Am I asking too much? ; - )
Got it. Thanks.those are actually the exact ones i installed. That should make a little sense now.
Just a word of warning, if you're running natural rubber grips, don't use anything more corrosive than WD40. The rubber will disintegrate very quickly. With the Biltwell grips that I used, WD-40 and a little pressure they slide on easily and are very well seated.

Carb cleaner for instance. Biltwell told me do not use anything petroleum based. WD-40 is OK.Such as what?

I've had great luck with hair spray or windex - the former dries a lot quicker though.
Biltwell also recommends using some wire to tighten the grips, which I may do this time around. Got some black Biltwell coming - Love their grips!
I've used Biltwell grips on several motorcycles in the past. I've ordered two pair of those for our 60's and will install them when I put the "mini apes" on our bikes.Carb cleaner for instance. Biltwell told me do not use anything petroleum based. WD-40 is OK.

I just bought a pair of Kinetic grips...how much larger than the OEM grips are they? Enough to make a didifference? OEM are waaay to small!I installed some Kinetic grips and a throttle boss on mine and it looks and feels way better. The small factory grips were cramping my hand.

these are by Biltwell. very comfortable and reduced vibes a wee bit. they are installed on my www.Indianmotorcycle.com beach bars - you will see the speedo has a 2" riser block under it made by the beach bar mfgr. @Marcus !I'm looking for grips that are thicker, but still have the Indian vibe. Really like the simplicity of the look. Are they thicker, fatter, more comfortable than the stock grips. I was looking at Kuryakan . The Biltwells are certainly less expensive.I have changed out stock grips to Biltwell grips...These are the Recoil grips....many choices avaiable and won't break the bank. I second the recoil grips. Very comfort. And if you don't like them you are OK lyrics out 20 bucks! Can't beat that!I have changed out stock grips to Biltwell grips...These are the Recoil grips....many choices avaiable and won't break the bank. View attachment 48829 View attachment 48830
I'd like to get these for my Scout. Which size I need? Do I need anything else apart from the grips?I have changed out stock grips to Biltwell grips...These are the Recoil grips....many choices avaiable and won't break the bank. View attachment 48829 View attachment 48830
Why is needed that halo rubber on the throttle grip? I don't see it on the Recoil grips and I precisely like the look with nothing else. Isn't possible?I have changed out stock grips to Biltwell grips...These are the Recoil grips....many choices avaiable and won't break the bank. View attachment 48829 View attachment 48830
