Hi @Brian Meyers what size Posh grips were these? I think they look great.

I think they are 7/8' with a plug length of 115mm?

Hey guys. I may have somewhat of a silly question, please bare with me . I was looking at the Kuryakyn grips for the Indian Scout. Part number 6367, when I look at the details it gives a universal fit for the following: Can-Am '10-'16 Spyder RS Models, Honda: All '96-'16 Rebels, Indian: '15-'16 Scout, Yamaha: All '85-'16 Virago 750/535/250 & V Star 250 Models. Kuryakyn #6241 also comes up for the Honda Rebel, however some have said that it doesn't quite fit. I'm feeling somewhat confused lol. Another question I have is what length am I looking for? I see a lot of options on Ebay but nothing specific. Feeling a little frustrated at the process lol.

 

I took a slightly different approach to grip replacement. I covered them with these: PUSSY GRIPS Yamaha YZF- R1 Simply slide/twist on, let dry and ride! Don't worry about which to order, they are all the same.

 

What is the trick to removing the stock grip from the throttle tube without having to cut it off?

 

That is the trick to getting them off.... cut them off!

 

"Vista Cruise" throttle lock,,modified .....and grip puppies installed over stock junk,,,,,and "Ebay Kawasaki Heavy Bar End Weights".... installed on the end of handlebar.

I fine set up.,,,,done a year ago.

 

Has anyone done Heated grips yet? Would like to get some installed on the Scout.

 

I put heated grips on mine. However, on the throttle grip I had to put them over the grips . then I used shrink wrap on top. Review... They are ok, but I ended up buying heated gloves and will be removing the heated grips.

I installed some Kinetic grips and a throttle boss on mine and it looks and feels way better. The small factory grips were cramping my hand.

 

I just bought a pair of Kinetic grips...how much larger than the OEM grips are they? Enough to make a didifference? OEM are waaay to small!

 

Biltwell Kungu grips in black are now on my 60

Taking off the original grips was tough - both were glued on - the throttle side was tougher given the flange of the throttle tube.

 

I installed the Kuryakyn Kinetic grips in black. I think they complement the Scout style nicely. Installation on the clutch side took 5 minutes, most of it to clean up the glue. On the throttle side you have to cut off the original grip and cut/sand off the small ribs. I'll probably add the throttle boss.

 

I have changed out stock grips to Biltwell grips...These are the Recoil grips....many choices avaiable and won't break the bank.

Really like the simplicity of the look. Are they thicker, fatter, more comfortable than the stock grips. I was looking at Kuryakan . The Biltwells are certainly less expensive.

 

these are by Biltwell. very comfortable and reduced vibes a wee bit. they are installed on my www.Indianmotorcycle.com beach bars - you will see the speedo has a 2" riser block under it made by the beach bar mfgr. @Marcus !

 

I like the diameter and the feel of the grip. Good decision to install them.

 

Yes...thicker and fatter..

 

Abel...7/8" rubber piece on throttle is piece of original grip as these are not as long on throttle side only. Don't need anything else.

I put the Avon grips on, too. They feel great, much thicker than OEM.

I almost went with these but went with these. I'm installing new Mini Apes and am going to switch to the black chrome versions. The throttle boss attachment is fantastic.

 

Certainly thicker and a bit longer.

 

I had such a hard time deciding between the Gatlin's and the ones you have, the Spike's.
Both the ends look so bling.

 

It's also amazing how light they are, I had the K's previously, the Avon's are superior in how they feel.

 

I'm interested in the new over-sized grips from Indian...

 

Avon grips, they are thick, plenty of traction and look cool.
