Better yet, what isn't it used for. I customized my entire scout with that one simple tool. If you don't believe me I have pics to prove it.

But in all reality. No clue. Lotto scratcher?
Used to scratch the windshield on the vintage when it slipped.

I have no clue, because i've tried using it for many things on the bike and it doesn't fit anything that i've changed out. I had to buy a hex bit socket set because using manual allen keys suck and take to long. Guess its there to act as a shiv if you're out and someone wants to cause a ruckus with ya! lol

I have my tools in my tool roll. Rarely use the ones that have came with any bikes I've owned. Most of the provided tools are too small to provide the necessary torque to do anything. Over time, I usually wind up adding the tools off the bike to the big tool bag in the house or misplacing them in the shed. Family and friends may borrow the big bag but the roll is never far from the bike.

I use it to take the seat off my RM, and tighten the battery terminals.

It is the McGiver/ Scout / Ronco multi-tool. Tear engine down to the crank. ( not really) lol. But does fit handle bar clamp bolts, side cover bolts, most external engine bolts, and the Phillip for light/ lenses and such. In a pinch it can be used as a Sun dial , Compass, or inserted into bleeding/ open artery. (Joking).

You can find the same size (single) Allen wrench with a ball end on the other. Order from McMaster Carr. Pops in place. The OEM tool will cost you 8x as much from Polaris. It won’t have a Phillips on the other end but the main thing is the correct size allen, as it fits most of the bolts on the Scout.

Mine came with a little bag with several allen heads and the screwdriver allen. All in a little zippered bag.

Well, hot damn! I only joined this site a couple days ago, and I’ve certainly gotten my money’s worth right here, courtesy of the OP, 3 Speed!!!

I had heard about this tool but when my bike was delivered I didn’t get one. Or so I thought! I’m getting ready to take the bike in for it’s 500 mile service and was going to ask about the tool (called a “uni-tool” in the owners manual). But now I don’t have to!

Behind the license plate holder. What will they think of next?!?

Thanks!

I broke one of the plastic prongs that it snaps into, so now it’s in one of my saddlebags.
Think it happened from pulling upward too much instead of toward the tire.
It’s an awkward place anyhow.

Awkward, indeed! I’m going to put it in with my other tools as well. And I’m going to do a bit more closer inspection of the bikes’s nooks and crannies. No telling what kind of Easter Eggs they’ve hidden!

The most important use for this so called tool -during this quarantine or other times of bad MoJo -is to place the 90 deg. Hex key part in your mouth, and the Phillips looking end pointed towards Jupiter or Mars. A secret communication device to lift you up. Hearing the messages is easier if your high. Lol.
