I was considering a ZUMO but watching this. A dedicated navi has advantages but the price for this device, even though it’s only leveraging my phone, is tough to compete with!
I previously had a Springfield, and am considering another one once again. I currently have a Chieftain, and even though it has built in navigation, I use wireless carplay. In my opinion the functions you get out of carplay far outweigh what you can get from a dedicated nav system. I've been thinking if I go the Springfield route, I am going to get a wireless carplay screen like @Joe21SBSS has. I wouldn't mind just using my iPhone but it appears that there is no way to pull carplay up on its screen (unless one of you guys can show me otherwise). carplay is designed to stream from your phone to another screen and not just be used on your phone.

I started my Springfield today! It's been in hibernation on the tender since November last year. She fired right up! Gonna prep here for riding season in Idaho in about 2 weeks. Ride safe--wish you all the best!

I took mine out for a little ride before the tear down. I’m going to do a polish paint correction and coat with a ceramic. Wish me luck I’m new to using a Rupes DA polisher.

I really like the idea of these, they are slick!, and am in the apple eco system hook line and sinker, have been since iPhone 3. I think my biggest concern in deciding to get one of these units is the rapid releases of IOS most recently and how buggy the releases have been. I would hate this thing to turn in to a brick because its no longer compatible or suffers flaky connection and performance due to an update…..Maybe I am over thinking it 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for pointing this out, other have mentioned this too.
I’m not very scientific so I don’t understand exactly how these help since the wind is felt on top of my helmet and lowers are down by knees…. unless its an upward stream that once hits the dead space of shield somehow continues to route in an upward motion until clearing the shield (my side which can NOT take advantage of the recurve) allowing it to flow directly in to my head???

anyway its worth a shot, picked them up w/free shipping and spring discount it wasn’t too painful. Only downside, they are tinted. I want clear. Called a local glass shop and was told they also deal in plexi and poly and can use them as a template to produce clear lowers ,$30, Freedom wants
$50, win!
I have the JES Custom one on my SDH so I have no experience with the Indian ones but it should be similar. Air comes in under the windshield, hits the engine and is deflected up towards your face. You can feel it by putting the palm of your hand near your knee while riding. It's referred to as dirty air. I was looking at the Indian one but they only come in chrome and that won't work on my dark horse.

I've had both the JES Customs and the Indian deflectors. The JES customs set is far superior to the Indian brand. The Indian brand surely looks better but they don't deflect any air toward the engine and creates a hot pocket of air behind the windshield. The JES Customs blocks the right amount of air for buffeting but forces more air toward the engine. At least that is my experience, YMMV

How do you have it mouted to the nacelle? What do you think about the size of the display, too small, too large, about right? Can you post a pic or two with it mounted? Is it wired to the accessory plug in the nacelle?

Have it mounted with a RAM ball mount. Used This Ram Mount and used a M6 bolt instead of the M8 it comes with to fit to one of the top holes in the nacelle. The rest of the setup came with the unit. Yes I have it connected to the switched 12v accessory plug in the nacelle, just ordered from amazon the needed connectors and pins. Size is pretty perfect IMO, as is brightness even on sunny days so far. Have only ridden with it 2x's since the weather turned, but so far so good. Pic's below are while it was taking the winter off in the basement, don't mind the messy gym area.

Finally installed oil cooler and changed oil ( 1st change ). 7.5lt of oil till FULL on dipstick.

As there is no any official dealer nearby, can anyone share list of bolts and nuts which have to be inspected and their torque specs?
Not sure if you are using liters or quarts but either way that is WAY too much oil. What year is your bike? Dean

You put 8 quarts of oil in your bike? I suggest reading the owners manual and then draining it before you start it.

7.5lt / 7.9qts. As per dipstick it is FULL, not overfilled.

2022 SF, 116TS. EU specs.

The MAX any Springfield holds is 6 quarts, most are 5.5. If you run the bike with that much oil you run a very large risk of damage to the engine. It is clear you did not read the manual for oil changes, filling to the full mark is always a big mistake. Your bike, Your decision...

I also thought that it is 6qts as per manual and also dont think that oil cooler could hold so much oil, but anyway it is what it is. Started cold engine for 30 seconds, in upright position oil is on full mark. Maybe EU spec engine is a bit different.

Well, when you ride the bike and oil starts pissing out your filter, think back on this conversation. The problem here is that you are treating it like a wet sump system, when it is actully a semi-dry system. Filling to full is always a mistake.

The oil cooler really makes no difference in oil quantity on the 111/116 and I highly doubt there is any difference in the crank cases between the US and EU specs. 6 quarts is the MAX you should be putting in. As @Noisy Cricket stated be prepared soak the air cleaner and left side of your bike from the oil pushing out the breather. If you don’t believe us contact the closest Indian shop you have there and ask them. Dean

With 6qts it was lower than MIN on dipstick. Is it better???
Stop worrying about the dipstick and use the reccomended amount as stated in the manual. Take it out for a good ride and it will be fine. The oil dipstick in an Indian is about as useful as the low fuel alarm.
