I've been busy adding/upgrading stuff:
  • added hard lower knockoffs from Amazon
  • replaced OEM seats with Ultimate Seats (heated)
  • added passenger sissy bar w/luggage rack
  • replaced the 12" Freedom Shield curved with a 14" Freedom Shield curve windhshield

Looks good! Those look like the backrest and the lower fairings I did reviews on youtube for. They are really nice.

I bought these, which I believe are the same ones on Amazon too, for my Springfield and had them painted to match and they mount right up on the mustache bar.

Yes sir, and as @Lee-Bro indicated, they mount nicely to the mustache bars. I lucked out insofar as my 16 Springfield is black and the hard lowers just so happened to match dang closely color wise.

These appear to still be available from Indian:

They fit the mustache bars on my red 2017 SF. You need both items. Total price was about $410 US. Not sure about Canadian availability. You might need to befriend a Yank across the bridge near you.

What base did you use? I was thinking about something similar.
I got mine from here a couple of years ago, bought a cheap tour pack to put on top, not as pretty as the slim version, but highly practial.

I cheaped out and ordered just a carrier and did a bit of a modification

i have seen that there can be an issue with fitment because of the air cleaner and signals
what was your experience
No fitment issues with the air cleaner (stage 1) or signals.

So you have stage 1 exhaust which a dealer told me was suggested for proper fitment of the lowers.
Is the stage one air filter smaller than stock
When I purchased by 16 SF used it already had the Stage 1 air so don't have direct experience with the stock air filter assembly. That said, visually, it looks smaller than stock. The lowers fit with ease with the Stage 1 Air assembly.

I would be very cautious how much weight you put into the trunk. The sissybar attachment points vs the standard trunk support arms will provide much less strength.
good point i will have to put something of weiht into the trunk to see how it holds up.Typicaly on a raod trip I will have sleeping bag, clothes in the trunk, and a tent and foldable chair on top of it so im guessing maybe 20-25 LBS at most. Rest of my gear goes into a tourpack that sits on my passanger seat plus what ever i can put into the saddle bags. My last ride had huge fiberglass saddle bags compaired the the indian ones

I couldn't help but notice the screen mount on your nacelle. By any chance is that for a wireless Carplay screen like this 5" IPS Touch Screen Portable Motorcycle Navigator Wireless CarPlay Waterproof | eBay ? If so, what is your opinion of it, and how well does it work?

That's exactly what it's for. So far so good, but I've only been able to get out once for about 2 hours since I installed it due to weather here in MD. Connects to the phone no problem and has seemed to work seamlessly. I use a Cardo on my full face helmet, so with my phone connected to both bluetooth devices to get the music to play in the cardo, I just had to select the cardo as the output for music on the phone once playing.

THING2, 14” Freedom, wish I went 16”. Still have buffeting on top of head, not sure how you taller folks are getting away with only a 14”

Sounds like you need some Indian or JES lowers. I'm 5'11" and can get away with the Freedom 12" and JES ones. Smooths the ride right out. The Indian ones in clear may look more invisible on your bike. That looks too purty to put a big hunk of chrome on the front end

How do you have it mouted to the nacelle? What do you think about the size of the display, too small, too large, about right? Can you post a pic or two with it mounted? Is it wired to the accessory plug in the nacelle?

Thank you for pointing this out, other have mentioned this too.
I’m not very scientific so I don’t understand exactly how these help since the wind is felt on top of my helmet and lowers are down by knees…. unless its an upward stream that once hits the dead space of shield somehow continues to route in an upward motion until clearing the shield (my side which can NOT take advantage of the recurve) allowing it to flow directly in to my head???

anyway its worth a shot, picked them up w/free shipping and spring discount it wasn’t too painful. Only downside, they are tinted. I want clear. Called a local glass shop and was told they also deal in plexi and poly and can use them as a template to produce clear lowers ,$30, Freedom wants
$50, win!

I was considering a ZUMO but watching this. A dedicated navi has advantages but the price for this device, even though it’s only leveraging my phone, is tough to compete with!
