After nearly 5 months, knee chop and swap, custom paint, wheels re powder coating, new tires, service, suspension adjustments with new longer rod eye ends, fork gaiters fitting and a few other bits and pieces finally got her home.

Fork stem nut covers fitted. Despite being advertised to fit they still needed a little grinding out on the lip to fit.

Got rid of the fiberglass rear close out panel and fitted the modified steel one.

Titanium bolt kit to fit today, balancing beads and a few other bits and pieces and should be ready to go forthcoming season.
Looks amazing sir! Hope that knee is looking as good!

Thank you Grumbles. (y)

First ride out since 5th September when bike was dropped off to dealership for some upgrades and I went for a right knee 'chop and swap.' Was the upgrades that delayed the launch not the knee.

A quick 50 mile trip around North Yorkshire. It was chilly - around 6 degrees C - but dry. Thanks be for heated gloves!

I have been having trouble with my gear change, too often catching in neutral when shifting from first to second. The free play at the clutch lever was spot on. The problem was my boots! I have some bulky, full length boots. The sole is very thick and the shift rod needs to be at near maximum extension for the boots to fit under the gear shift, with the min-floorboards I have.

I tried some different boots today and was surprised to find that they are about 0.5 inches shorter from floor to gear pad. I adjusted the shift rod accordingly and this made a huge difference. No missed gear changes and using the footbrake was much better too. Result!

My disc lock is very heavy and I can't be doing with it taking up space in my small bag. I needed a quick and easy on/off solution for the lock. Bought a bracket and mounted it on the swing arm bag rail. Glad I made the lower rail longer, know I know why.

Finished off capping the Titanium bolts. Pro Bolt sent me a batch with thicker seals and the caps wouldn't fit. Quick e-mail and they sent me 32 seals to complete the job.

Revisited the kickstand shoe. Wasn't happy with the paint finish after having to butcher it to clear the drivebelt so took it off, stripped the paint and polished it instead.

It looks much nicer polished, and the paint won’t get scuffed off from asphalt or gravel, etc. I was at Mid Ohio Vintage bike days last July, and watched a nice Ducati fall Ofer due to the side stand sinking into the grass in the middle of the two roads going in and out… I went over and picked it up, with another guy, and his front cowl fairing was snapped on each side by the handlebars. I alway carry a puck from a show, or vendor, with me, and I used to use beer or pop cans when they were available.
Oh, was that bracket sold for your disc lock, or did you have to adapt it? It looks good.

Needed a couple of rubber pads fitting to stop the lock vibrating that's all. My lock is 'Thatcham Approved' and it gives me a slight insurance discount because of it. The locks that the bracket was designed for are the same length but thicker, not 'Thatcham Approved' and had an inbuilt siren which I was not interested in at all. Details of Thatcham Approval below.

Finally received my Femco quick drain oil plugs from Holland. Was worried about the size in comparison to the OEM ones and whether I would be able to torque them up to the required 20NM with the 22mm socket required. Worry was needless but did have to double-up on the copper washers to prevent the nut from touching the case-casting as there is a slight raised portion adjacent to the plugs. Never have to come out again unless I sell the bike then the originals will get refitted.

Late Edit.

Let them sit overnight after putting oil back in without the dust-caps on to ensure no leaking. Took a photo of them fitted.

From comments on a couple of other threads and people perhaps worried about grounding them out. Unlike the Stahlbus ones made of steel these are brass and would undoubtedly shear before damaging anything else. Steel and aluminum are never a great mix anyway. Whilst I have all the lean angle on my Scout I could ever wish for, ground clearance due to my battery and associated electrics relocation from under my seat is limited. My battery box base is slung approximately 2-3" lower than these plugs at the rear of the engine. If you are aware of your bike's limitations there are no issues fitting these that I can see. The convenience for me is worth it.

As stated ground clearance could be deemed as being in short supply anyway due to the battery box.

A 70 mile trip around the Howardian Hills of North Yorkshire. I had a brief stop at my favourite bike shop, Teasdale Motorcycles in Thirsk, where they are selling loads of the new Guzzi v100 (they are currently not an Indian dealer). This bike shop is, I am delighted to say, expanding substantially having bought some adjacent buildings. Their service is so good that they deserve to thrive.

Mind me asking what lock you're using on your rear wheel?
It is most definitely an Oxford lock, probably the Alpha XA14. See Disc Locks & Padlocks : Oxford Products

I have the XA14 and its 14mm pin fits both the front and rear discs of my 2020 Scout. Its security rating gets me a discount on my insurance. It’s quite heavy and I carry it in a leather army surplus ammunition case strapped to my crash bar. See, for example, YUGOSLAVIA YUGOSLAVIAN ARMY JNA LEATHER AMMO POUCH | eBay
