I found zip ties to be more useful for the tail bag on wife’s solo rack.Got this Saddlemen R1300LXE Tactical Deluxe rigid bag for an 2 day trip come spring. Rok straps look like they are going to work quite well. Much better than bungee cords. But without the saddlebag spools it would be a * to make the bag properly secure
. These luggage racks are designed for retro looks, not actual use.

Nice....what size wheels and tires?Swapped out the Scout's wheels for a set from an Octane with new rubber. Lifts the bike quite a bit and really changes the handling through the twisties. Loving it!

Awesome thanks...I plan on putting 18s on my scout so it's nice to see it close!18x130 front and 17x160 rear
17” front 18” rear. Geometry can be adjusted if need be to suit. Bars may need to be cranked up a little or replaced entirely.18 worked awesome on the front. A 19 might even fit. The 17 lifted the back up quite a bit though. I think an 18 might throw off the geometry a little but give it a go!
Now that looks mint! Love what you've done with the pipes. So she doesn't ride weird with the larger rear? I changed mine over because I'd riden an octane before and knew they were a straight change over. Wanted a little more rim and a little less meat to the look. The handling translated over amazingly well and I look it up into the twisties. The bikes is heaps more capable than I am so I could just push and cruise control was still maintained perfectly for the fwy. All in all, good modding weekend.17” front 18” rear. Ahh not that weird from the thickness but more having the rear wheel a larger size. Is the total diameter the same or does your bike now lean forward more?No ‘weird’ ride at all for my stature and position. So many people ask me or say “She must be difficult to get round corners?” Which is getting mundane to say the least, with the compensating much skinnier front and if road conditions permit and you lean on the gas with the low centre of gravity she tears round corners and with the Avons the rear remains firmly planted and can be very much relied upon! She also affords a greater lean angle than OEM.
What did that run you?Today, despite the cold, I mounted my children's Christmas present.
