Bought the 2020 scout bobber and took home a passenger seat to install. The dealer forgot to include the bolts. They're an hour from me and I'm impatient. Got the pegs installed and have the seat but not the four bolts. Does anyone know what size this takes? I'm assuming an ace hardware run could solve my problem.
Instructions for that kit says it is an M8x1.25, 22mm long. Nearly everything on the Scout is M8. I've purchased a lot of M8 hardware for my Scout at Ace so you should be good!

Thank you very much. I'll hit the hardware store tomorrow. It didn't come with the manual either, just the seat in the bag. I have the service manual on order and on the way too.

I am not sure the Metric size, but if you take one of the bolts that is on the bike with to the hardware store, you should probably find what you need, although it might not be the allen bolt head, but that depends on your store. I got a bolt from the local hardware store, and slightly longer won't harm anything.

I replaced the springs in the forks, added fork gators, installed rear shocks by Arlen Ness, blacked out the chrome on the tail light and turn signals, installed bolt head covers.....
And....
Fabricated quick release mounts for Harbor Freight cases!

Whew! Busy couple of days!!

Oh, yeah...
Installed a fender mud guard up front. The fender was rusting where stones had chipped away the paint.

Sexy ride. Well done. How are you liking mirrors down vs. up? and is vertical wrapped plate legal everywhere? Newish rider and don't know. Looks amazing though.
Thanks, the low mirrors are fine and always give you the extra idea to turn head as we should do always. The vertical plate is new and we'll see what happens. IMO the plate shouldn't really be an issue compared to sport riders who regularly hide it.

I was going to do that.... Still may, but The bought the black head covers for $32 and they look awesome. Machined from silicon and really look good.

I like the look a lot. But I read on another thread in this forum a month ago that those silicone caps can be a real PITA to remove sometimes. When I have a mechanic working on my vehicles, the last thing I want is for them to tackle the job pissed off from the get go. So, Notaharley, what is your considered opinion on those - do you think it could be an issue popping those caps off the bolts? I mean, you want them to stay put and not just fall off. But not so much that it’s an ordeal to get them off when needed. Thanks!

Those cases just don't do it for me on a Scout.

No doubt that bags (boxes) are a personal preference, as is whether to have them at all or not.

Great video! I kept thinking of This Old House TV show I used to watch a lot of.
And at the beginning I was expecting to see a Steve McQueen motorcycle ride through the field.:D

Your expansion plug mounting idea should work for other bags/boxes.

I was going to ask what exhaust that was but I believe I already guessed it, Crusher Mavericks in black.

They are easy to get off. Vigirously wiping down the bike, I knocked one off when the towel got caught on it.

I did not use any adhesive, although I had planned on using a dab of RTV.

When are you having a mechanic disassemble your engine!!!?! Lol. Probably Never!

Yup...Crushers by Kuryakyn. Good performance boost and sound amazing without hurting my ears.
So many compliments on these pipes!

Rode today without bags. I have several bike trips planned and must have a way to carry what I need. Total cost for both cases, spools, and hardware was $130.
I am putting a set together for my wife's bike this week.

The spools allow me to use a quick-release bracket for a backrest... And install a trunk, if need be, for my trips.

Everything pops off in 20 seconds.
