finally got around to making a seat lanyard, ended up that when the seat is hanging it makes a good place to lay your tools while working with battery or making connections. also made these bungee spools for about 10 bucks. Auto part Engine Fuel line Vehicle Wire

I stared at my new Memphis Shades batwing fairing that I just got back from the painters and then went and stared at the mounting and turn signal relocation kits, still unopened, on my work bench.

I also perused the Memphis Shades website to see what screen I might want for it. I'll know tomorrow after I've mounted the fairing.

Well how's the healing going Jon? Do you have pretty good movement and strength?
Thanks for asking. As a matter of fact, I am back riding and it is more enjoyable than ever. My hand doesn't go numb and all the tingling is gone. My grip is getting stronger daily. As it has only been 4 weeks (2 since sutures came out), I think it is amazing I didn't do this sooner.

I haven't posted any of my mods yet, as I was waiting until I was done, but today was frustrating, so I'll share a rant.

I ordered the solo rack for my Bobber a couple days ago for nights that I ride to Pool league. I'm the team captain, so I have paperwork and stuff I gotta take, as well as my pool cues, and it's NOT comfortable riding with both a backpack and a cue case slung across my back, hence the luggage rack... figured I could use it for the backpack.

Anyway, I ended up installing it with only 3 of the 4 supplied bolts/washers, because the 2 left side holes wouldn't line up... it was one or the other, and the thing's too sturdy to spread those brackets further apart.

It's sturdy as can be with just the 3 bolts installed, but still... for something they charge over $200 for, there's no reason for it to not be perfect.
Just saw your post and the rack not aligning at all four fixing points is totally unsatisfactory. I'd take it back and get another one. Not right.

I considered that, but I need the rack now.

It's perfectly sturdy as it is... no wobble, no give, so it'll serve its purpose.

I may take it back off at some point, put it in a vise and try to give it a little bend, or even just widen the hole a bit.

I was thinking it was WAY off but if it's just a tad you should be able to bend it or as you suggest, route the hole out a bit. I've had to do things like that before, like with a Corbin seat mount. Frustrating. Good luck.
Two short rides today confirm that my ass ain't happy with the stock seat and my arms & shoulders ain't happy with the handlebars.

I dont see the need to yell the model but hey whatever floats your boat. enjoy the new bike.
Installed a Hommie air chamber seat cushion. Took a ride and the initial impressions are good. We're going for a longer ride in about an hour. I'll report back.

Installed the Indian Performance Air Intake and had the dealership do the flash. I already have 4” Khrome Werks slip ons and I can tell a difference in the throttle response for sure and and slightly deeper exhaust note . I had a voucher for the air intake so I was only out 50.00 for the stage one flash.

I am happy with the result and for the cost and what I wanted out of it, I am definitely content with the outcome .

Just got my Scout back from the shop yesterday evening - new Racetech fork springs and valve emulators, new Barrett clutch cable, new battery, and an oil change. Fork change makes the front end much better behaved.

Doing the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride tomorrow in Santa Monica. Should be decent weather.

How much did the springs and valve emulators cost if I may ask . That is my next project is to correct that on mine

Installed progressive fork springs and rekluse torqdrive performance clutch with my buddy yesterday. a member on here who sent me the pdf service manual and my buddy saved me $$$$$ from the dealer trying to rip me off by saying they’d have to remove the primary drive cover and not just the primary cover (clutch cover) which would mean they’d have to remove my exhaust as well (which they didn’t figure into their estimate that kept changing and suddenly needed more parts/ labor to do the job) yet with my very limited/ humble mechanical knowledge/ skill level and my buddy we did the job without all those extra parts, special tools (fork tube tool), or extra steps (removing the primary drive cover etc). For once my stubbornness, determination, and my trying to save a buck payed off. The job went off without a hitch just took a long ass time. Wish I would’ve got more pics of the process but oh well next time I guess. Bike is so much better in the twistys now. No more submarine dive when braking or pogoing in the corners of uneven roads or from twisting the throttle wide open. The clutch upgrade is great as well haven’t gotten to really play with it too much because there was too much traffic and I want to give it some break in time (don’t know if I have to but rather be safe than sorry).

Checking my invoice the suspension kit is $290 including 95kg springs and valve emulators. Add in another $100 for seals and bushings and it's $400 total for the parts from Racetech. Then add fork oil and fork seals along with 2.5 hours labor from your favorite shop. I also needed a new dust cap as mine was galled and stripped out when the shop removed it.

Went up to Indian over the weekend with a buddy and picked up a couple of the new Comfort Seats. I can tell you they're night and day difference while keeping the stock look. Indian did us a solid on the price at $250. They also have a promotion right now if you spend a certain amount so at $500 for the (2) we got $125 off.

Did you have to extend the lines for those bars?
Did you have to extend the lines for those bars?
No sir, But I pulled the bar back for a more reduced reach so my clutch cable is at its max , I will be ordering a Barnett clutch cable with a plus 2” this fall. Also my controls on the bar are turned down a bite more then I want so I will drill new hole for the placement pin when I replace the clutch cable . If you are thinking about new bars call Dean Speed and ask him to drill an extra set of hole for the placement pins so you can adjust them the way you want .
