Thanks.

The seat really helps. It's still not what I would call "comfy" but it's less bone-jarring than the stock seat was.
How are you eating tumbleweeds in Candler? That's about 90 miles south of me.
Bike looks so great -- I had wondered about the suspension myself, and noticed in the specs that the Bobber has 30% less suspension travel at 2" (like a StreetGlide).
Could the regular shocks be installed to give you a better ride?

I can’t get enough of seeing my fairing on my scout lol I go to the garage on the hour lol I’m ready to soar ..... if I take it to Florida , it’s raining? Oh well, probable get it there anyways, lol
You must be excited -- commenting on your own post!

Btw....do you listen to, or play bluegrass?

I love the appalachian music. I make unique fiddles and some guitars.

I'm looking forward to the report!

Life and cold weather have been in the way of riding lately, but with temps in the fifties I did manage to make it to this today.

I've put a few things on to help with cold weather: National Cycle Wind Deflectors and Sage Brush Soft Lowers, plus the bigger tank bag to block some more wind. Still working on maybe some Fork Lowers to deal with the air flow along the bottom of the tank/top of my legs.

Fork lowers work well...

But have you considered a small spoiler on the forks below the headlight?
Worked great on Victory bikes.
(Kuryakyn sells them among others)

I replaced the springs in the forks, added fork gators, installed rear shocks by Arlen Ness, blacked out the chrome on the tail light and turn signals, installed bolt head covers.....
And....
Fabricated quick release mounts for Harbor Freight cases!

Whew! Busy couple of days!!

Oh, yeah...
Installed a fender mud guard up front. The fender was rusting where stones had chipped away the paint.

I like the look a lot. But I read on another thread in this forum a month ago that those silicone caps can be a real PITA to remove sometimes. When I have a mechanic working on my vehicles, the last thing I want is for them to tackle the job pissed off from the get go. So, Notaharley, what is your considered opinion on those - do you think it could be an issue popping those caps off the bolts? I mean, you want them to stay put and not just fall off. But not so much that it’s an ordeal to get them off when needed. Thanks!
They are easy to get off. Vigirously wiping down the bike, I knocked one off when the towel got caught on it.

I did not use any adhesive, although I had planned on using a dab of RTV.

When are you having a mechanic disassemble your engine!!!?! Lol. Probably Never!

No doubt that bags (boxes) are a personal preference, as is whether to have them at all or not.

Great video! I kept thinking of This Old House TV show I used to watch a lot of.
And at the beginning I was expecting to see a Steve McQueen motorcycle ride through the field.:D

Your expansion plug mounting idea should work for other bags/boxes.

I was going to ask what exhaust that was but I believe I already guessed it, Crusher Mavericks in black.
Yup...Crushers by Kuryakyn. Good performance boost and sound amazing without hurting my ears.
So many compliments on these pipes!

Rode today without bags. I have several bike trips planned and must have a way to carry what I need. Total cost for both cases, spools, and hardware was $130.
I am putting a set together for my wife's bike this week.

The spools allow me to use a quick-release bracket for a backrest... And install a trunk, if need be, for my trips.

Everything pops off in 20 seconds.

I’ve never been a fan of the matt black on my 2016 Scout. The paint is what finishes the bike and makes it stand out.

I’ll eventually get a decent paint job and it’ll still be black, because as we all know you can paint it any colour your like so long as it’s black.

Today while under government directive locked in at home I cut and polished the Matt black paint, Lo and behold it’s now shiny. Far better than Matt black.

I also put gold strip as a trial before I get a decent paint job. Reasonable happy with the strip, a proper pin stripe job will leave the stick on strip for dead.

That looks really nice! That is a 2015, right?
Is that a crack on the rear fender?

My wife has gloss black and it is a bear to keep nice. Seems like dust can scratch it -- but I love the all black she has on her 60. Wish my frame was black.

So, today....

I nearly had to shovel off the snow! Lol.

I liked your video... and a very clever solution! Can you provide a link or description for the spools? In case others want to give it a try! (Me for instance!). Had a quick look on eBay with no luck...
The spools are available through Indian Motorcycles, and there are some on eBay.
I believe a set of 4 cost $69. I was searching for quick release hardware.

Yesterday, I added drink holders to our bags.
We have mounted the Harbor Freight bags on both our Scouts and they have been fantastic.

My Custom Corbin Solo Seat just arrived!!! I really like the look of the stock seat so I tried to mimic it the best I could. I will install later tonight and update with on bike pics.

Pics do not do the color of the leather justice. The stock seat has more of a red hue to it while the Corbin is more of a true brown. very similiar though.
Here is what I ordered for reference:

- Corbin Classic Solo Seat
-Horizontal tuck and roll
-Scout Brown & Black stitching for the top of the seat
-Matte Black & Cooper stitching for side panels.
-Black Corbin Logo with no studs or welt.

THAT is fantastic. Indian should think about offering it as an upgrade. The stock seat was a big negative for us when we were looking at bikes.

Love it!

Installed the following today:
- Indian Performance Air Intake
- Indian 10" Mini Apes (Black)
- Kuryakyn Legacy Levers (Black)

A few things...after a 30 minute ride I think I'm going to roll the mini apes back a bit more. They are too upright for my liking.

The Indian air intake paired with the V&H exhaust is a BEAST. Couldn't ask for a better sound and feel.

The dealer didn't have the mount for my bar end mirrors so I'm riding dirty for about a week until they get delivered.

Dang, that's a nice looking ride.

Love the pipes and the seat....I've got those levers on the way here for mine.
Been blacking things out bit by bit.
