Finally got round to fitting heated grips to my Bobber.
A bit of sanding lots of cable ties and some hair spray (acts as a lubricant then dries like glue overnight) not too much grief really, even saved the old grips,
but whoever designed the routing for the fuel line needs taken out the back and beaten with a large stick !

OK here goes long post so appologise in advance
They are from a German company called CLS but they use the grips from Oxford
HEATED GRIPS CLS OPEN 22MM DIGITAL DISPLAY | Motomike
The old ones are easy to get off using a long flat screwdriver to break the seal,(doesnt look like glue ,no residue left behind) actualy tapped it home with a small hammer then just work it round inside the grip.
The throttle side was like taking a tyre off a rim 2 screw drivers used like levers to get it over the rim of the throttle tube, done this after removing the tube.
I had to sand down the tube and cut off the rim at the switchgear end, then sprayed the bars and inside of the grips with hairspray (it acts like a lube then dries like a glue)
The main control unit tucks in behind the battery a treat and simply connects directly to it,(the unit doesnt switch itself on until after the engine is running then shuts down when it stops even if the ignition is still on). Clever these Germans :D
The wires just follow and are cable tied to the main loom all the connections fit snuggly in the velcro pouch inside the headlight nascel, from there there is a small sensor that is attached to the left hand switch gear cabling and the digital control unit is cable tied/velcro attached to the bars the wires for the grips just follow the same route as the factory fitted ones.
The sensor is a thermostat as the grips automaticaly switch on at 59 degrees. When the system is active, the processor detects the outside temperature at the handlebar. If the temperature sinks, the output is increased, if the temperature raises, the output is reduced. The measurement is repeated every 15sec, but you can over ride them with the control unit.
