What did you do to your Chieftain today?

When I had my 2015 Scout I loved that they had a regular thread where the entire community dropped in what they added, modded, upgraded, painted, etc to their bike.

Would like to start that here! Post what you did to your Chieftain today...

Hoping to ride tomorrow morning to see if the second of the two tunes CraigB sent me reduces the engine vibration.
Bath Time, I also installed Captain Itch Crotch Cooler heat shields and leather grip wraps recently.

Changed the oil for its 5k service today and put in 6 qts of 20W40 fully synthetic V twin Mobil One oil. I have a drag racing habit of cutting open all my oil filters for inspection. Shown below is the stock filter vs fram filter. The fram looks like it’s got more surface area but the Indian filter has a metal cup that it sits down into so roughly the same area. I think I will stick with the stock filter. No metal was present in either filter

I trailered mine to the dealership with five codes and stuck in limp mode and an hour trying to start it after leaving me stranded at work. Today was not a good day

Repacked baffles, Freedom Performance Slip on.
Sounds nice, when idling , still barks when you add some throttle .
The area where the baffle meets the header pipe , ( inside the slip on) is where all of the heat is at, hardly any heat gets yo the end of the slip on. As far as what the packing shows ,
This area has a wire mesh under insulation , to help with the heat from the engine.
When they install the baffles they use a plastic package tape, like for mailing packages. This is to keep the insulation in place. But it melts and gets hard, also the tape . I used regular scotch tape , to keep it a in place, while I really installed it. When I was push the baffle in , I spun it in the same direction as the insulation is wrapped , to keep it tight. I figured the the scotch tape will hold it for installation, then since it is so thin that it would almost have no hard sound effect.
Results are , quit a bit of difference.
As I stated nice idle and slow speed , but will let you know, it’s there when you give it some throttle.
Anybody can make you bike have the sound you like,
The test will be to see how many miles it lasts , before I have to repack them .

Lucky!
I've been out to the hills twice so far this year and planning a 3rd.
I've been out there 31 times and counting..
Its a special place and feels like home.
I have a friend that lives in Central city so its an excuse I use to get out there and ride, I also bought my chieftain in Sturgis. Im jealous of people that live there. Congrats

Added Mid-rise bars and heated grips.
BTW- I have a set of Chieftain pull-back bars for sale if anyone is interested.
How do you like the mid ride bars? Been thinking about getting a pair but was not sure.

Rode it 1000 miles over the last 2 days. Headed up to the High Sierras with a buddy on his FJ1300. Checked out all the sights and slept under a beautiful full moon!
