I'm wanting to pick up a rear stand for storing my bike in the winter and for doing oil changes. Yes I could do a lift but being the Scout has two plugs having the whole underside of the engine free and clear is nice. What stand are people using if any?

Thanks!

I don’t see why you would damage anything? I’m very particular and careful when placing the lift and 1 hour or a few months on the lift shouldn’t make any difference. I’m riding year round (sun must be out, clear roads and temperature must be above freezing) that way I’m not putting her away and I get fun miles out of every single month in the year - even in our brutal Chicago winters 🥶😎👍

Highly recommend it. My white walls need cleaning every so often d as bd on the lift that is SO MUCH EASIER, too. 😎👍

I did it twice already - that lift lifts the bike very high if you want and unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures. :( But yes, I have/had access to both drain plugs and didn’t make a mess in my garage (read I got my pan underneath catching all the oil)

I was searching for the right solution 1-1/2 to 2 years ago when I got my Sixty (used) and one of our fellow tribesmen recommended this particular (Harbor Freight) lift, and that’s why I bought it. It works.

A $69 or so lift from Harbor Freight. No problem with oil changes at all - and if you want, you can leave her up all winter long (y) View attachment 608689
Same lift I have. I’ve done oil changes, repairs, cleaned my white walls, etc. using it and haven’t had any issues at all.

exactly @Moto_Max. (y) I don't have pictures with the pan underneath, but I found old pictures when I got the lift and when I put it all the way up. You can see the 2 drain plugs are clear and free in the 1st picture and on the second and 3rd one you can see that you can easily put the bike way higher than needed to put an oil pan underneath. Case closed :)

not sure why my profile all of a suddeen is showing the Canadian flag ....... I'm still in Chicagoland which last time I checked was in the US of A - maybe one of the grand masters can look into this and bring me back to my (chosen) homeland ;) (y)
