When I was installing my heated grips, I also filled the handlebars with lead shot. Probably 2-3 pounds worth. Made a huge difference in handeling and vibration reduction. Just sayin'... (I used "household goop" to seal the cable clamp holes and ends.)

Handling?..........not even close.
However, it does reduce vibration as you stated.

Probabally "handeling" was the wrong word. More like stability... espicially at higher speeds and on highway when trucks and vans tend to push you around. Makes it feel closer to a "big boy" bike.
