Feel sorry for her husband/brother or whoever it was that was driving. He lived, and even though there was probably nothing he could do, he'll feel guilt.

There have been a LOT of doe around here lately. See them every day.

Husband. Apparently She owed a Bar & Grill on the Eastside and was very beloved by her community. Sad!

I do feel bad for the family and all involved. I've ridden that stretch of 61 a few hundred times and I have never seen a deer - mostly because you are along the river, but I imagine it does happen, as it does everywhere around here.

I am a little curious as to why the rider chose to cross the centerline to try and avoid, rather than a different course of action. I imagine panic and avoidance probably caused it.

Just read that the husband has died as well, I've ridden that section of 61. It's a great ride.

Sympathies to the family

My condolences to her family and friends :(

61 (one of my favs:D) is probably one of the most popular rides for the locals. With that, I don't recall a year passing by when we haven't lost at least one motorcyclist on that road.

Of the less common causes for accidents...A few years back, a rider was killed when he lost control due to the mayfly hatch causing the road to get slippery.
