Warbonnet Ultra Seat preview

I wanted to show you guys a new seat I am working on for www.IndianAftermarket.com It is called the "Warbonnet Ultra". It is the only adjustable springer seat (for any bike) for the Scout. The positive features are: It can be mounted in four positions forward and back. The more it moves back it also rises taller. This will allow taller riders to ride longer distance without feeling cramped. It also comes with five plastic shims that allow you to adjust the forward tilt up and down (range of 2 3/4"). It comes with a leather feather held in place with an Indian nickle. The springs pretty much solve the problem with a poorly designed rear shock system. You can spend $700 or more to get new shocks or buy this new seat and the springs add another 2" or more of play. I have been riding it for about 75 miles and I have hunted down railroad tracks and pot holes. It never bottoms out. I used to stand up when I saw a bump coming. Now I just smile. You can remove one knob by hand and have access to your battery and fuses. It uses a ball bearing hinge at the front. Normally, seats like this require tools to get to the battery compartment. If you buy this seat, you don't have to worry if it will be comfortable. You will be able to adjust it to your body. the seat shown has 2 inches of foam padding. However, I am working on a larger pan with a 1/2" layer of foam and a tooled leather surface. (A feather will be tooled into the seat.) The seat and leather are all made in house. The color goes with the stock leather parts made for Scout. The seat shown looks small but it is very comfortable. I am going to make a larger one to make sure. I will post it later and begin taking orders. Price to be announced.

Looks fantastic! If it holds up to all-day riding, you're gonna sell a bunch of 'em. Love the look and the Indian details.

I rigorously test every product I design. Someone has to ride the Scout. It is a sacrifice I am willing to make.

Marcus look at the old Indian seats and try to copy the size and especially the shape of the old and very comfortable seats.
I will be a customer too if you do.
Us guys with a big ass need seats too! :p

This is exactly what I am doing. I can't find pan blanks that I like for a good price so I am going to make the pans myself. I was surprised how comfortable the small seat is. But I want the old retro look as well. Thanks for the imput.

Yeah - I thought oem seats (back in the day) were way wider
Much wider.... Maybe up to 6 inches wider that most now.

How about finishing the platform in leather (vinyl) also, to rid all of the black on the base.

I was thinking the same. I will be experimenting. I might use black rivets to hold down a leather strip that covers all except the edge of the black.
"I smell a trade in the works" you need the floor swept and a sandwich from what I recall.

Always has to be one. I no likey. Too unfinished and some retro looking things just don't look quite right on a modern m/c. But, just an opinion.

Yeah I sorta agree with you Troop but maybe it still looks unfinished because it's a prototype? The thread doesn't quite do it for me but maybe it will be gone on the final product.

That looks like a seat off my beach bike. I do love the attention to detail and direction. Keep up the great work.

I owned a Jawa when I lived in Bakersfield Cali. Like in maybe 1965.
I don't remember if I bought it or it was given to me.
I owned it about 2 months and never could get it running.... something about the points.
I don't remember if I sold it or I gave it away!

It looked very similar to this picture except it was a very pale faded pinkish purple from being out in the hot Cali. weather for a long time..... I think it might have been a off purple/burgandy color when new?
Definitely was never a red color like my example below.
