Hello, friends. Thinking in buying a RIVCO trunk relocation kit for my RM. I need to "kill two birds with the same shot", gaining a couple of inches between my back and my pillion and providing additional two inches for her leg span.
I am a little bit concerned about the relocation of the trunk with this kit. Is it not too rear being so heavy? Is it safe? How will the bike beheave with this so heavy trunk located so rear? Are the spools where the trunk is fixed to the chasis strong enough to held the trunk with this 2 inches longer lever?
Please, any of you guys has any experience with this kit?
I have the Rivco extenders. The Rivco pad filler is garbage. I bought the Kurakyn filler pad and it worked well for my wife. I just rode 1100 miles with the trunk fully loaded over the past weekend and experienced no handling issues.
Have the RIVCO as well. 800 miles and no worries/concerns with weight distribution. No filler pad, wife loves the open space, leaving nothing to bother her tailbone. Best bracket IMO!
I installed the Rivco brackets last year.....put 12000 miles on the bike. No difference in handling.....
Wife needed the extra room....
Bought the Kurakyn filler pad. Matches the tan perfect, and looks good.
Put the Rivco brackets on last year. After 13,000 miles wife loves the extra room. She said after installed & put on some miles she didn't need the filler as she didn't feel the gap.
Okay is the price difference $139.00 and $ 274.00 worth it? I would like to get the max room for the wife but like the looks of the Rivco plus original holes are used. I can get 3 inches more with kuruakyn but only two with Rivco. Any thoughts?
