I thought everyone who rode an Indian Motorcycle knew about this movie. Going on 20 years old now. IM themselves made replica's in the last several years for publicity and homage to the legend. One is sitting at Spirit Lake.

I did not know. But I am a former Harley guy. But I am sure glad I met the old man.

I've seen this movie 3 or 4 times, great movie. When someone asks you what is your favorite movie of all time, I tell them that's impossible because I have to break them down. For instance, war movies, which war, which theater of operations (Europe vs. Pacific), sports movies, boxing or football or baseball, and so on and so forth. That being said, "The Worlds Fastest Indian" is my all time favorite bike movie...

This is a great movie for the whole family. Unfortunately movies like this today have been replaced with movies advancing Hollywood's socialist agenda. When we watch a movie today, we like to guess when a man or woman will kiss one of their own sex. Then we turn it off.
Worlds Fastest Indian is a classic that will endure. It's a movie that will touch your heart.

Added; It was pointed out that there is quite a significant part of the story that involves a transvestite. Yes there is but they handled it in a very loving way. Not so much in support of a movement.

I was at Walmart today. Parked my CBDH and was about to go inside. An old gentleman approached me. He told me his dad rode an Indian. This gentleman was in his 70s or 80s so his dads bike must have been really old.
Anyway he recommended I watch this movie. Its based on a true story. Its a really good movie. I recommend you watch it.
I have never seen it. but it is on my list for this weekend. Thanks

Before I saw the movie I thought Burt Munro was factory- sponsored. So I was “meh.”

Then we were on a bike trip and two ladies saw our bikes and asked us if we had ever seen the movie. They told us “You have to see it.” So when we got back we spooled it up and wow!! The back story is incredible ~~ all done by an older guy who had no money, did the build himself, worked his way across the ocean, then worked his way across the continent to run his bike. And was denied official entry until the rest of our community was won over and finally supported him in his endeavor. Zero factory support. And on a 40-yr old bike!

Fabulous movie.

There was a Trans character in the movie. It had nothing to do with the story, the character was there just because.

My two favorite part of the movie was when he was testing his bike out on that desolate highway and the trooper pulled him over. "Do you know how fast you were going? and Burt says about 150. 160mph" and also the beach race where he blows by all those young punks on their British bikes. :ROFLMAO:

One of the best movies ever made with a motorcycle themed premise. My wife and I saw it when it first hits the theaters, and even she, who only has ever had a casual interest in motorcycles, enjoyed it quite a bit, as it's really more a character/human interest story and a road picture.

And re the trans person in it...I've always felt this character was introduced into the plot not to show Burt Munro's "disinterest" about such a thing, but first, more to present his character as being naive about it and due to his small town New Zealand upbringing, but also to show his tolerant nature, and thus making him an even more likeable person.
