Still waiting for black exhaust

May 2022 I ordered a 2022 Chief DarkHorse. Bike arrived at dealer October 2022 with chrome exhaust (it’s a DarkHorse so it’s supposed to have black exhaust). Got it in writing from dealer that I’d get my black exhaust.
Here we are May 2023, 1 year after ordering bike and still don’t have my black exhaust. And to make matters worse (salt in the wound), the 2023 models shipping with the same black exhaust owed me…

How is it that Indian has the black exhaust for the 2023 bikes but yet they can’t get me mine that I ordered a year ago???

it's all chrome, or is it just chrome heat shields? I've seen dark horses with chrome heat shield but never the entire exhaust system chrome

Bummer man. I'm also waiting on a Freedom Performance Exhaust that I keep getting the date pushed back on. Have you reached out to Polaris corporate or are you only going through your dealer? Might be time to call Polaris to discuss this. They jumped in and expedited things when a stop sale was placed on my Chief Bobber while it was waiting for pickup.

When did you order? I just got mine yesterday and I ordered it on the 24th of February.

After I was rear ended at a light almost a year and a half ago they got everything replaced/repaired but no black heat shields, kept calling every couple of months and still no black heat shields, called last week and they finally got them in, so I suggest you call them again and if they say it hasn't come in yet, see if you find a set for sale from a dealership that has them in stock, let them know and I bet you get them pretty quick.

I ordered mine through Dennis Kirk on February 2nd. DK has not responded to me in about a week regarding when they are anticipating it being with them. I was originally told I would have an answer Friday, but nothing from them even with following up with them. I'm glad you got yours finally.

I got a message back today from Dennis Kirk- the exhaust has now been pushed out to October for delivery. Extremely disappointed in Freedom Performance Exhaust now. People who ordered theirs after me got theirs already and mine is pushed back. I spoke to FPE a few weeks ago and they said all they were waiting on was the end cap to arrive in a few days then the exhaust was getting shipped. The order is getting cancelled and i'll find someone who actually has an interest in keeping their promises.

Biohazardcycle.com has them on their site. I’m not sure what the lead time is, though. I got my PSR levers from them & their prices were cheaper than anyone else’s. Very legit store!

I spoke to quite a few online stores and they all had to order direct shipping from FPE. They show as in stock, but they're not for this particular model. I ended up getting the Fab28 Industries full stainless exhaust ordered up and spoke to them on the phone regarding my situation and they assured it will be between 4-6 weeks for delivery at the latest. Much better service from what I can tell based off of a phone conversation. More expensive than I originally wanted to spend, but I think i'll end up with a better product.

You need to put some pressure on your dealer to get Indian moving on this, I would give them a call a day until you get a definitive answer. Check this out. There are some available from Indian right now. There are also some that are not. You will need to determine which part number you need.

Just get an aftermarket exhaust.
It’s really odd how Indian mixes matte black, and shiny chrome on their motorcycles. Sometimes in the exhaust and will have a black header in a chrome exhaust. Weird.
