So I have never had a matte finish paint on any bike. I want to remove the ugly sticker on the gas tank. What do you recommend for cleaning off the excess glue that won't jack up the paint finish?

Thanks

Did the same with mine .
It does work well but you could see a slight ghosting where sticker was but after a couple cleanings with detailer it subsides eventually.

Had matte paint on my Octane and WD40 did the trick. I’m going to use auto goo gone that I picked up from harbor freight for the residue after I take my front fork reflectors off. I’ll let you know how well it works

Here's a thought....

In the future, perhaps bikes that still have the sticker intact will be worth more.

Example: a 1975 Corvette that still has the "unleaded fuel only" decal is worth more.

My used mattress with the sticker that says "Do not remove under penalty of law" is worth more as well.
