It is suggested to do so. More air flow may require more fuel flow. You don’t want to run any engine lean.

I was afraid of that. Thank you for the quick reply. I had found a good deal on a used air filter but it looked to be missing a few small parts and after I have to buy a reflash card and pay for the install and some of the missing parts its cheeper to just buy it from my dealer as a complete kit.
