I have a Springfield with a Indian trunk installed (from a Roadmaster).

If I press the saddlebags/trunk lock switch when I drive, I get the CHK ENG code 0520299 6.
CHK ENG led doesn't lit, but the error is seen on the LED display when I use the toggle button.
There is no error code if I press the saddlebags/trunk lock switch before driving.

From the Indian Diagnostic Code Display, code 0520299 stands for Power Lock Motor (saddlebag or trunk closing motor) and FMI 6 stands for Grounded Circuit.

My dealer has already changed the closing motor of the trunk, but this didn't help.

Can those who drive a Springfield with a trunk check if they get the same error if they press the saddlebags/trunk lock switch when they drive?

Thanks,
Claude

I get that code on my Chief Dark Horse and I don’t even have the hard saddlebags.

Sounds like a connector issue. Clean the connectors to the saddlebag with commercially available electrical contact cleaner.
