To any and all California Canyon Cutters, your advice and wisdom regarding a future motorcycle trip in the LA area would be greatly appreciated. A group of friends from the Spirit of San Diego IMRG are working with me to put together an overnight canyon cutting tour of the LA area's best canyon roads. Any input from riders who have driven these roads would be very welcomed.

The trip begins traveling north from the 210 up the 39 past the San Gabriel Reservoirs toward Crystal Lake. We then head east onto East Fork Rd, travel up Glendora Mountain Rd and take the Glendora Ridge Rd to Mt. Baldy, hopefully for breakfast. Any thoughts on where to eat at Mt. Baldy?

We return south to the 210 and take the 15 to SR 2, the Angels Crest Hwy, to Newcomb's Ranch for lunch. From there we head north via Angels Forest to Palmdale to our hotel. We are planning on possibly eating dinner at the Rock Inn.

The next morning we head back out to the Rock Inn and then west to Lake Hughe and north up the 39 to Ojai Deer Lodge. We finish our ride by traveling back toward PCH to Malibu, pass Neptune's Net, travel up Decker Canyon to Mulholland Hwy, the Snake, and stop at the Rock Store for lunch . We will complete our route by taking Topanga Canyon back to the PCH and finishing at the Santa Monica Pier.

For those familiar with these roads, what are your thoughts?

Good alternative: Decker, Mulholland, Kanan duma, right on Cornell, left on Mulholland, right on Old Topanga, and finish with Topanga.

Yeh, that's a disappointment, but our ride will happen in September so we are hopeful it will be open by then. My understanding is it is scheduled to open at the end of July. Is that what you heard?

From Rock Inn head to Frazier Park, Lake of the Woods, left onto Lockwood Valley Road, take the short loop on the left to Reyes Creek Campground/Bar Grill for a cheap thrill, back to Lockwood Valley Road to Hwy 33 (Mariposa Hwy) left toward Ojai.

Happy Trails
