Some may know of my Scout is being used as R&D for a big bore kit that is being developed by Revolution Performance.
For those that don't, well... ya do now!:p
For those that do, heres how the progress can be followed with out my blathering a$$.
I have 2 separate posts that have some content in relation to this but figured I'd start a fresh one for the intention of social media and to rally any interested in showing their interest in the finished product on instagram. I don't want the Attn, but the market needs it! Follow or like!

Okay, I'll bite... what size is it?
Okay, I'll bite... what size is it?
The bore kit I'll be getting is a 105mm..
So 1300cc/79ci
The current cylinder is non sleeved nickle silicon plated..(Nikasil)
The cylinders will be aluminum sleeved, and then plated with nickle silicon carbide, or "NSC".
My past mention of the numbers of 1274cc/78 did not include combustion chamber CCs. My apologies.
So officially it is a 79.

That's a good size... it's the size range I thought Indian should make for their in-between bike: in between the Scout and the Chief. I figured a 1300 or 1400 would be good.

So are their changes to the heads... valve sizes, cams, etc?
Color me intrigued.

Nothing to heads and valves..
Cams will be played around with if the maker works with has sets done over the winter.
That's a very healthy increase in displacement. The liquid cooling should make any increased combustion heat a non-issue. I would expect that since the combustion chambers are unchanged that the compression ratio would increase. The bigger volume of mixture being burnt plus the compression increase should give you a nice bump in performance. It will be interesting to see the results on a dyno chart.
That will be played with. Lots of the specifics are not specific yet.
Cometic is making multiple gaskets for us, so we can play with and find the Goldilocks CR.

Well aren't you on top of your game so early in the am!
Ya, they seem pretty awesome.. I go bug them at lunch sometimes..
It's pretty cool to be working with a heavy hitter like Tom Morgan. I was surprised by his portfolio of champion riders and factory teams but the even more surprised when wondering.... WTF he's doing in the area after where he's been!
But, I guess, it's right in the thick of HD/Polarisville?
They have one of those side by sides all hopped up.. when they test it, it sounds like it is powered by earthquakes and tornadoes..

Oh, and I like your status line.. reminds me of somethin David Lee Roth said in the 80s.
"It's not about weather you win or lose, it's about how good you looked doing it"
Quite the philosopher he was! Lol
Don't forget to like or follow to
Let them know the interest!
hatt- 80's were awesome!!! and that was when VH was Van Halen, not Van Hagar!!

Yes the very best Van Halen.
ahmen!

Though could anyone besides Hagar have done anywhere near as good as him? (Besides Roth of course)
That was the only singer switch I know of that was even worth while let alone arguable to some..
Case and point, Gary Cirone...(sp?)
When singers are switched, it's usually the end.. so I still give the red rocker some credit...

AC/DC's Bon Scott to Brian Johnson, Misfit's Glenn Danzig to Jerry Only to Michale Graves, and Pink Floyd's Roger Waters to David Gilmour are the three that always stand out in my mind.

I'll go with ya on ACDC and pink Floyd..
But totally out on the misfits.. once Glenn left. IMHO they were done...

Following this with some interest.

Was the 105mm bore selected as the practical maximum (i.e not making the cylinder walls dangerously thin?), or just to hit the 1300cc goal?

I'm guessing the 79" modded 69" jugs could be swapped into a 60 also

Web Cam will also do custom hardweld/regrinding of any cams you send. Octane cams are slightly more aggressive and favor top end HP, might be a cheap alternative considering the fire sale on Vic parts now. But honestly, the Scout cams seem to have left very little "on the table" at least for a stock bore engine.
The size at this point I believe it was selected just for the number.
They bore out and re-sleeve with aluminum to their spec, which I've seen, and it's one hearty sleeve.
They also modify with this sleeve, the water jackets. So from this knowledge, I'd say they have enough control and thus can go much larger than 105 As far as cylinders go.
the combustion chamber is the limiting factor as I see it now.
This, is my speculation deduced from what I've seen, and the info I was given. I wasn't told this..

The Scout jugs, internally, look exact like a liquid cooled dirt bike, or like the other Polaris products jugs namely the sleds side by sides and ATVs.

Yes, I'm under impression the kit will be suitable for any Scout. 60, or 9'r.

On the cams, I have been told from Indian that the octane cams will not fit. Weather that's true or not, remains to be seen.
When I mentioned this cam to Rodney (the builder/tuner) he said that there isn't much point to that and when cams come in to the mix, he'll be sourcing elsewhere. Likely Hot Cams. I guess they are in good with them.
