Ride command bluetooth headset questions

I own a 2019 indian chieftain darkhorse. I recently acquired a Sena SMH10 bluetooth stereo headset and intercom for motorcycles.

I have paired my bike to my phone - no problem there.
My Sena is found on the bike but will not connect.

Has anyone run into this problem? I see back on 2015 there was posts about it and it worked then.

Trying to update firmware on sena now.

I have a 2018 Road Master and the Schuberth C4 with coms and remote control .I deleted the head set from the ride command because you can take a call if you go one but you can't speak back to anyone calling and everyone around you can heard you caller on the phone. So now I have the hemet paired with my phone only and it works as it should with all the features including music, phone calls (not that I like using it for that) plus sat nav if you wanted to have that though your helmet. The Senate is similar to what I have as Schuberth used their system in the helmets. This may not be much help but then it may be little clearer about the coms and bikes coms set.

I just got a C4Pro myself. I paired it to my IPhone but not to the bike. Can you explain the best way to use it again? You have the remote control for it? It’s difficult using the buttons on the helmet. Where did you get the remote from?

Unpair your sena from your phone, then connect the sena to your ride command. I had the same issue with my Sena smh10r. I had to just connect it to the ride command and not the phone, if I want it to connect and work through the ride command. Works great now. Don't connect your sena to your phone after you paired it to the ride command or it won't work. Everything will be controlled by the ride command.

Hey creolo25 - your sena - did you connect it as a phone or as a communicator? My bike will only recognize the sena if I use the multi pair function (on the Sena) and use the communicator function on the bike.

Thanks for the replies. I will try unpairing my phone from my Sena. I did unpair the phone from the bike trying different things and had shut my phone off. I'll try more combinations

I had a few of the same problems with my Sena 20 evo. You can pair the Sena to both the iPhone and Ride command, you just need to make sure you set the speakers on your phone to use the Sena. The problem with syncing to ride command is you can only increase the volume to the Sena speakers very little. (Not the case if Sena is only paired to your phone). I now pair my phone to ride command and only pair my Sena to my phone. That way I can control the volume as loud as I want and I still get text notifications and call notifications on my screen, I can still answer calls using my touch screen the only drawback is using the radio stations on the bike through my Sena speakers. I use the programmed stations on my Sena for radio.

Updated ride command software successfully and unpaired phone from bike and Sena. Paired Sena to bike - it shows up and shows paired but will not connect. This is frustrating.

I've got my packtalk paired to my phone and my girls packtalk paired to mine. I get my map updates from Google Maps on my headset. So my question is why should one link up to the ride command on the bike? Is this a better option than Google Maps? I dont have any experience with the ride command app. I have some rides set up but have had difficulty trying to send it to my bike.

Finally got it working. I was pairing the sena was saying to pair. They are wrong and I had to pair as a phone to the intercom. I cannot have the sena connected to the phone and the bike at the same time. Connect sena to intercom then phone to bike. Phew. Thanks again for the help.
