I recently was riding and in a bunch of traffic I thought the bike fan was on and it eventually started dumping all the coolant out after overheating. yesterday after working on it (pulled all the components out to get to coolant tank to make sure no hose cracks or any leakage) and seeing it overheat and dump the coolant again without the fan coming on. I was able to pull out the fan harness and motor but have had no luck trying to test it or find anything about them online. anyone have any insight on these motors?

What was the temperature reading when the coolant dumped?
Has the coolant been changed recently?

How long have you had the bike, and has the fan worked in the past? It should turn on at a specified engine temperature - and the dash tells you current engine temp so you can check it.

If the coolant has had a recent change as AAD asks, it might be that the system has not been bled properly. The Scout has a difficult bleed process as it can get an air lock under the tank. If you search the forum you will find some info on it.
