And I love the history of your home town Buddy,......fascinating,......I'm no expert, but I do have the shocks; it seems to me that the way the gas compresses means that they work over a wider range than the usual springs. They look great; they're easy to keep clean; and they can't 'bottom out'. Whether or not you prefer the ride to the standard shocks is a matter of personal preference; most users seem to.
I'm 10kg lighter than you; perhaps that's why, having fitted them, I don't understand why some people think they're so much better than stock.Yea, there are many reports out there saying they are great for duo and high loads. But I will be riding soll and no luggage 90% of time and I don't understand how the shocks will be better that the genuine ones in this coditions of use. I love the look off them but still I think I would go for the adjustable ones of the brand or the Ikon unless someone tells me they erform well in solo for a 90 kg equiped rider.
For me, the Bullits seem to have dealt with the pogo effect and bottoming out, and they probably do better than stock when I'm pressing on and riding hard. I'm not sure I prefer them when I'm just pottering around country lanes, which I do a lot of; personally, I think that the stock provided a smoother ride for gentle riding on all but the roughest roads. The Bullits also seem to make the bike ride a little lower at the rear, in that, instead of scraping the pegs on sharp corners I started scraping the silencer - not now I have the Aeromachs which are slimmer and so don't touch down so quickly. If I was starting from scratch, I'd wait until I could afford the Indian Fox shocks, which are designed for the bike and seem to have all the adjustment necessary.I'm over 90kg fully kitted and find the stock rear pretty good (I reduced preload slightly from factory setting). My criticism is lack of rebound damping (pogo effect), if the bullits control rebound damping then that would be job done. But I'm moving towards K-tech RazorIII as they allow +10mm height adjustment as well as preload /rebound adjustment which would suit me well. Also as a solo Scout rider the big advantage of the Bullits wouldn't apply to me. Really intended to do this before now but got slowed down in the winter.
