I'm having problems playing music off of 32 GB thumb drive formatted fat 32. I've tried two different high quality drives and have the same problem. It takes some time to load them but after they're loaded the screen will often stay blank. I have to constantly repeatedly hit the music button to get it to finally come up. It often will show me the left side menu and the bottom menu but not any song in the middle. I found that if I select an album then let it try to play a song from that album it'll stop partway through and then go back and start to allow me to shuttle through the songs by pushing the right side shuttle button. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesn't.
Without shuffling the drive always plays the same songs in the same order.
After shutting down the bike sometimes I have to go through this whole process again or sometimes it'll continue to shuffle songs.
I'm very computer literate I've spent 30 years in the computer industry and I still can't figure out the problem.

The newer ride command units prefer Exfat file format, even though FAT32 works. The older units pre 2020 are the ones that are FAT32 only.

The ride command units don't like large amounts of music files. And playing music off the flash drives is hit and miss. I just use my phone and or CarPlay.

I've pretty much discovered the same thing, on my '22 Challenger, about too many music files. CarPlay/iTunes is not an option for me (android), so I'm using a 16GB thumb drive. Still using iTunes on my desktop computer to curate & manage the music though, converting it to MP3 format there.

Hello everyone. After 7 years of trying, I finally got my Indian. A 2024 Challenger Dark Horse with audio package in red smoke.

That being said, I have been having the same audio issue. After playing around, I have found if you remove the APEv2 and the ID3v1 tags the mp3 files play. So far I have gotten 3 albums to play. Still working on the cover art problem. Hope this works for you all. Also using a USB formated to Fat32. Once I get all the albums working I will try exFAT

So very SAD, about the thumb drive not working for music. I got a 2023 roadmaster last November and nobody has a good answer for me. the only good thing about it is. when I talk with my friends that ride HD's they can now talk shit about my roadmaster. haha you can't play your music with a THUMB DRIVE on your perfect Indian roadmaster.
