I live in Gilroy. I am friends with the CEO of Gilroy Indian. There were bikes they needed to wholesale out and I picked one up. I was fun making changes but I took a comfortable bike and turned it in to the most uncomfortable bike I had ever rode......but it looked good.....haha
I got them about 10 years ago on ebay, at a time when gilroy bikes and parts were much more common - I think ardvard at the time also sold them, but I suspect no more. Best best is to check ebay as I think that is all you will now find - unless anyone else knows a shop that still makes custom parts for the gilroys?
Just got it. My son got his new bike and after years of delayed gratification I realized all I have ever wanted was an Indian Scout. I looked at the new ones and this one popped up and I was a goner. Love everything about it except for the z bars, I need something more old school.
Hey y'all, this is my 1999 Chief. I put on the Samson fishtails, rear crash bars, solo seat rail, and some vintage style Buco chrome stars for the front fender. It came with some nice leatherwork at the rear fender when I got it, and I got a HornDawg leather tank panel to match. This pic is from the 2018 Galveston rally at the seawall. The bike is pretty much where I want it design-wise, but I am looking at possibly getting some narrower beach bars and possibly a chrome luggage rack.
Really nice lookin bike. How do you like the cloud seat? I've been thinking about getting one from Mark. My 99 has the stock seat and its horrible for long rides plus im 6'2" and was hoping the cloud seat would get me up away from the floorboards some.
