When you have an AMX in the garage everything else is just....stuff. Nice bike though.
Not my car anymore. But I have to say that is the most overlooked car of the late 60's-early 70's. i would put those cylinder heads against any automaker of the era. Especially with what we know about cylinder head porting now.

Picked up Ruby last night. About halfway home I get a P2179 error :(. From what I gather I can still drive it to get it back to the dealer. About 150 miles away.
My very early impressions are. It is a lot more agile than my 2018 Darkhorse. The handlebars, for me, are too far away. I ordered some mini's to pull them closer. I feel like I am riding my 1990 Ninja from back in the day. Except, my back isn't the same as it was in 1990 and my belly rests on the tank. But, to be fair I'm a short guy with T-Rex arms. I'm sure average size guys and I'm wouldn't have an issue. I didn't even try sport mode yet. I am waiting to break it in and get looked at. I can tell it has gobs of power, just from merging into traffic. It doesn't take much of twist to get moving. And the brakes! It will stop a lot faster than the big ole Chief. Dual Brembos and about 150 lbs lighter, I guess it should.
Getting used to pegs again is going to take time. I didn't realize how spoiled I was with the floorboards.
Any other Sport Chief owners out there?
I sat on both the sport and the regular chief and agree , the bars on the sport have you hunched over. Also , the sport seat feels less comfortable in comparison. For my money , If I were going to buy one of the new chiefs, I would get a super chief , a real shield, reasonable bars and more comfy seat but I'm always thinking like a distance rider so the sport doesn't make sense to me personally. I think a Super Chief would be just as much fun red light to red light or in the corners but I could also ride it long distance. jmho
btw, love the Javelin !

Picked up mine March 8th. It’s a fun machine. I went from a Scout to the FTR S to this. Ordered a 2-1 exhaust from Freedom exhaust. I’m used to sliding around the seat in the FTR. The Sport Chief locks you in and you will not be moving. Sport mode is as advertised. It’s super nimble and balanced. The windshield and fairing keeps a good amount wind off you even on the highway.

If you want to add a passenger, you’ll need to buy a whole new rider seat and passenger seat with the pegs. I’m buying the full super Chief seat set. The passenger pillion is not compatible with both the sport seat and the comfort+ seat. I’ll just swap when my lady friend wants to ride. Figured that out the hard way.

I sure like where they place the digital touch screen. Easy to reach and read. Not a fan of the sport style because it has no floor boards and the different sitting position.
But, with the 116 in sport mode , you sure need a good seat to keep you anchored down! Seat,, floorboards, different handle bars would be my first mods.
Actually that front fairing is growing on me. Dont mind the look but on the open highway that is when I would prefer my super chief limited with a good high wind shield. A BEE hitting your chest at 100km an hour stings a bit!

Take a Super Chief, lose the saddle bags, put the Challenger wheels and front end on it, rear reservoir shocks and a real seat with forward controls. Now, that's a bike that would appeal to me.
You just described the Sport with forward controls. Nearly identical front, res shocks, and the new seat is legit. Did they miss something?
