Mitch Dobrowner is a superb photographer. Here are a couple of his works. These are not staged or photoshopped. First is a ”land spout” coming from what looks like a UFO but is actually an unusual shelf cloud formation in Kansas. Land spouts are ground-up vs tornados which are cloud-down. In this case the dust from the ground fans out at a wind shear to form the “ufo” cloud.

The second is a nacreous cloud formation over Badlands UT. Talk about getting in touch with this “alien” planet we live on!

Saguaro NP ~~ trail to Signal Point. The artwork has been assessed as 500 - 1500yrs old. Lotsa questions: Who was the artist? Why did s/he do this and why this design? How did s/he do it/ what technique? How long did it take? Admiration for the skill involved…
