These shocks come with a plastic spanner for adjusting preload. I have got it on but making an adjustment and then getting it back off is rather difficult. Getting it back off being the difficult part. What am I missing?

These shocks come with a plastic spanner for adjusting preload. I have got it on but making an adjustment and then getting it back off is rather difficult. Getting it back off being the difficult part. What am I missing?

On a lot of fasteners sometimes you have to back it off a bit to get it off. Maybe if you push to adjust it in the other direction a smidge it will pop off easier.
