I just recently traded a vintage for a chieftain. the vintage had a backrest that I didnt keep because i was under the impression that the backrest was different for the chieftain, i do believe that they have different part numbers. i was curious if anyone knows the difference between the two, and if a vintage backrest can be made to work on a chieftain. the reason i ask is that the lady who purchased my old bike told me she wasnt going to use the backrest. i thought i might try to buy it from her if it will fit.

You can swap the backrest from a Vintage with a Classic, however, you can not swap the backrest from a Vintage/Classic to a Chieftain. At least that is what it looks like on the accessories page online.
