...but what is the part inside the red box of this picture? I can't find it identified in the owner's manual and would like to satisfy my curiosity.

Clutch lever arm.

Interesting photo, Indian name missing on the engine tag.

Winner.... Clutch lever arm. with cable

Shift linkage is forward...with, well, a linkage....

Thanks for the answers! I just grabbed the clearest picture I could find, which happened to be a Kuryakyn Aztec Primary Cover for the 111.

I think Barnett Clutch Cables offers a replacement.... if you are looking.

If you operate the clutch lever you will see this part move. It's good to know this one as the end of the clutch cable is mounted there and it needs to be kept lubricated. Some spray lube into the cable ball end every few months is a good idea.
