For several years I've post after post on this forum by those that love the old or original style Indians. Nothing wrong with that at all, I like them too. But how about some love for the modern Indians (Chieftains and Springfields). Put em right here boys and girls, show us your rides. I'll start with my bike, Bertha. She started life as a 2019 base model, she is far from base now.

Edit- didn't mean to leave out Roadmasters.

My trunk is a TCMT trunk that was $200 bucks. I bought fatcory matched spray paint from colorrite.com and sprayed it myself. My total investment is $450, I already had the factory Indian quick release base. It's not perfect, I'll call it 75% but I'm ok with it. Avanblack and The Pro Pad sell color matched trunks for Indian if you want a perfect paint job, trunk and base can be had for about $1200 to $1500. My end game was to ultimately get the Indian trunk for the rear light, remote locks, rear speakers and power outlet capabilities and I like the shape, but we will see, that's a lot of cash.

Thanks for the input. I spoke with advantblack and they don’t have my silver quartz metallic paint match. But pro pad does. My dealer gives a 10% discount so the difference between the pro pad and Indian set up is like $900. Which is a lot but with the light .. remote locks and speaker capabilities i could justify. However , oddly enough , the shape is what i am not crazy about. I like the lines of what you got going on .. just can’t find a pic of a silver quartz metallic limited with trunk to push me over the edge. The above pic with the Viking leather trunk on the silver quartz looks good to. Ugggggggg

So I guess Julie’s Roadmaster DH qualifies, eh? She’s got the non-flared fenders, the Harley-style bags, and the Harley-style front fairing. Guess that qualifies…. The RM has lowers but a lot of people add them to their non-Indian bikes (even Harley!)

Although my trunk is not OEM...it works great. It's a Viking trunk mounted on the OEM base. Trunk was $300.
It looks great too !!!! Wife and I were worried about the black color kinda throwing everything off but it doesnt seem that way at all and looks blended with the seat .. I just got one of those “crotch coolers” like you have as well … need to look at the passenger Floor boards and a back rest for me

If you can find a used Indian trunk, buy it. Even if you have to get it painted, it can be much, much cheaper than ordering one. I found a trunk w/ the speaker & amp kit, quick release rack, and armrests. After painting costs I'm still under $3k for everything.

Those of you looking for factory paint may want to consider buywitchdoctors.com

I couldn't find Metallic Jade anywhere except for the dealer and they wanted nearly $500 for it. I got the same kit from Witch Dr's for $150. It's the factory spec paint. I had an Indian trunk and after market set of lowers painted to match. You can see how the trunk turned out over here: What did you do to your Springfield today ?

Thank you. The crotch cooler is a must have, it makes a huge difference with the heat from the TS motors. I would recommend the Indian passenger floorboards. They are pricey but worth it.

Great tip .. question .. how did you go about finding someone to paint it .. just go to a local body shop or something? Do you know what a price range woudl be for that type of paint job .. not knowing anything about the body painting business .. someone could tell me its 2000 and I would believe them

I called my Indian dealer and asked them who they use. My cost to have a two tone paint job done was $650, total w/ paint costs was $800. The $650 is in the range that I had rec'd from other people who had trunks painted. The guy who did mine here in the Cincy area is Rod Prather. He has a basement full of awards and trophies for his work. H-D contracted him to do a paint a series of bikes for them.

As a side note, my cost to paint the trunk would've been only $650 if the painter was able to match the original paint. We tried and he got it close but the Metallic Jade has pearl in it that's damn hard to match, even with using my side panel to try and match. This particular paint (code 745) truly is a proprietary mix.

So you can likely get a 2-tone paint job for about $650.

So by modern, does this mean since Polaris has owned the Indian brand or since they have the new single headlight design. Only asking because that's all I've seen so far and don't wanna post if my 2017 is too old for this convo. Lol
