One of our good customers just got the laced wheels for the Scout in black. These wheels came out in the 2016 parts catalog. Thought I'd give some thoughts on the wheels.

- They are beautifully finished. The black wheels come with contrasting stainless spokes and the look is very nice.
- The wheels are lighter than I expected.
- No need to buy tubes and rims strips, they are included with the wheels !
- Direct bolt on replacement, of course.

Our customer took the opportunity to also swap the stock Indian OE tires while doing the wheels. A set of Pirelli Night Dragons transform the bike and it now transitions upright to lean with much better feel. The bike just feels more planted and precise. The grip is also amazing, well worth it.

Snapped some pics for the tribe! :D

very nice + a good price but!!! 17"s would offer a "world" of sporty radial tyres. the OE sized tyres IMO look like truck tyres with their tall sidewalls. i love those "mags" on the last pic, prolly 18's still good radial options, really fits the scout IMO. lighter wheels + tyres are important so a set of aluminum rims laced to OE hubs would help, carbon fiber being ultimate but $$$$$ if anyone made a fitment without changing other parts!!! by the way slotter what make + size are they???

Currently I don't have that information about the rims but I am endeavouring to get it and will let you know once I have the good gumf.

Cheers

@Coral Motorsports -- Did you guys weigh the built-up laced rim, and the stock cast aluminum rim? I'm curious as to the difference in weight.
Didn't weigh them on a scale, just by feeling them in hand. I'll see about weighing the next set that comes in.

thanks for replying! many cast factory wheels can be quite heavy as are steel rimmed wire wheels. also if you compare tyre weights, not easy to find you will see tyres with taller sidewalls are heavier as well. smaller outside diameter of the rotating tyre + wheel is important as well + keeping a close O.D. compared to the OE setup will assure similar handling but better with shorter less flexible sidewalls or even a better tyre like users have noted going to Commander II tyres. that small front fender + the rear that looks cut really looks great with the prolly larger diameter alum wheels IMO!!! direct fit wheel upgrades using all other stock parts are a plus for sure!

Black spokes look sweet. I'm just not a fan of tubed tires anymore.
