Hi,
I've been looking for a vintage bike to wrench on and ride and settled on this '48 Chief. I looked at a ton of bikes and narrowed it down to a Vincent Rapide or Chief, and the Chief won out. This one is restored and has a right-hand throttle and shifter. I think I'll keep the throttle where it is but convert the shifter to the left. I won't have the bike for a few weeks but really looking forward to getting it and being part of this forum.

My 46 also has right throttle, left shift.

Shifter a pretty long throw and not gated like a Harley, so have to use random points on the tank to know what gear it's in.

Lightning was hitting around us with a call box we passed, taking a hit 5 minutes after we got to my house.
