Need a rear tire replacement near Peterborough/Lindsay Ontario

I will be traveling on my 2016 Roadmaster from Northern Ontario down to Lindsay in a couple weeks, 2000 kms and then 2000 kms back home. I am going to be needing a rear tire replacement while down there. as I have about 16,000 on the rear tire now, and will put on another 1000 before I leave in 2 weeks.

I called Barrie Indian dealer to see if they could fit me in for a rear tire change ( I will be towing a trailer, and have my own tire). They said they are booking into August.

I said "really"...?? I'm on my holidays and will need this tire changed while I'm out on this trip. My dealer is in Winnipeg, which is 1000 kms return trip out of my way for this trip.

After Lindsay, I will be travelling 8000 kms out to BC. I would have thought a dealer would go out of their way to fit in a traveling customer.

Are there any independent shops in the Lindsay/Peterborough area that is capable to changing my rear tire.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My opinion after previously trying to eek out one more trip myself on a tire that is at end of life is that it's not worth the aggravation and stress to try and deal with it on the road. Replace the tire before you leave rather than 2,000 km (1,200 miles) into your trip. You won't have to worry about finding a shop, won't have to wait around while the work is being done, and you won't have to fret during the last 500 km wondering if the tire will make it. I went through the hassle on one trip in 2016 and swore I'd never do it again.

I did a little bit of quick math and stretching that tire out for the last 2,000 km will probably save you about $50 USD. To me, giving up $50 worth of rubber to not have to monkey with a tire change in the middle of a trip is money well spent.

Again, my opinion.

The Barrie Dealer sent us packing last year when I called with a puncture. It sounds like that is there standard procedure for help. I was travelling from Nova Scotia to BC.

If you want some excellent service, try these guys. In Barrie.

They bent over backwards to help me out with a new rear tire replacement. They are an Independant but some excellent guys. Buy a shirt and tell em the Two Indian guys from Nova Scotia say hello.

If you call ahead they can order a tire up and have it ready...

Sounds like Dagwood has given you a great option in the Barrie area.
Another option in the Peterborough area might be Service Department I Classy Chassis & Cycles I Lakefield, Ontario (usedhd.ca) although I haven't personally had work done there.

I know this is a ways away but Platinum Powersports in Clinton is a reputable place.
